I have had this bag for about 6 months and I love it. I have used the pocket inside for shoes, but never naked shoes lol. I put the shoes in a bag to keep the interior of the Bellroy clean. But I use the bag for work commute each day and haven’t needed to put shoes in it more than a couple times for weekend trips. I actually don’t mind the back panel on it. I think it depends on how you commute. I don’t have the bag on for extended periods of time so it works fine for me. I have been really happy with the bag so far

I am a petite woman and also prefer backpacks, but it is a struggle to find one that is FUNCTIONAL, fits my frame, holds what I need it to, is professional, and still feels feminine. I have this bag and love it, though I do wish it was more feminine (not sure what that change would look like though, to be honest). Perhaps some feminine colorways like the Saltbrush would add to the lady-like look.

I had this bag for a week now and it is really good. Material quality, waterproofing and separation of my tech stuff with gym stuff is great. Only complaint I have is straps and back padding. My old under armour that costed 50%-60% less is better so I definitely think they should l use the same straps and back (especially straps)on 20 L than on 28 L considering the price
@Nomads.Nation2 жыл бұрын
100% agree with you. It’s a great bag but has a few annoying flaws
@RosenblumStudios3 жыл бұрын
I have this bag and love it. My main complaint is also the back panel not being very breathable. This is a problem for extended wear, but not short-term wear. I found that I could solve this by attaching a sternum strap (TimBuk2’s to be exact) through the leather loops at the bottom of the shoulder straps. So when I wear the bag for longer, I can connect the sternum strap and loosen the shoulder straps, so the bag falls away from my back. So, for longer wear at heavier loads, it’s more comfortable because of the sternum strap redistributing weight to my chest and stabilizing the shoulder straps on my shoulders, combined with the bag sitting a bit off my back, alleviating the breathability problem. It still rests on my lower back, so I do get a little sweaty there with extended wear, but it’s very little compared to other bags where I still sweat at all the contact points of a back panel with air channels. When carrying shoes in my backpacks, I’ve always them in a bag, like a plastic grocery bag, so that’s not really a problem. By the way, the bag I was most comparing to this one for similar organization and a travel context is the ULA Dragonfly. It’s 22L (advertised as 30L, but that includes the exterior stretchy pockets) and has similar organization with a seemingly better back panel. It’s taller though, going by ULA’s measurements. For what it’s worth, the Transit Workpack can fit in a box that’s 43 cm (17 in) long without squeezing it at all. I don’t know what Bellroy is smoking with their 50 cm advertised height.

I have this backpack. Its weakness is its harness system and back panel. The aesthetics is its main strength. The quick access pockets and pouch area in the tech compartment are clutch 👍. It needs a mesh outside water bottle/umbrella sleeve (no wet umbrellas inside the bag), more padding on the shoulder straps, and some improved ventilation on the back pannel. I got it on a heavy discount, not worth $200 with the flaws it has.

@@THiNK103088 thanks so much! I have had this bag since it released, I love it. I work in tech industry and during this pandemic I basically needed to carry a mobile work station with me (laptop, tablet, 2 phones to test on, bose qc 35 ii headphones for meetings, dopp kit because always want to be hygeneic, water bottle, keyboard, gunner frames for staring at a screen all day, bellroy tech pouch for cables and mouse) It carries all of this well, comfortable and I still could jam something else int here (like a patagonia nano puff for chilly days). With that said I would NOT consider this or any 20l bag for a college student. My wife was in college recently (graduated 2019,) and is getting her Phd now, and I know how much you guys carry (books alone eat space). She uses a 28l bag (patagonia refugio) to fit all that stuff. Working professionals, this is an awesome bag, college students..... accept that you will basically have to carry a ruck sack on your back.

@Nomads.Nation4 ай бұрын
Liters isn’t as cut and dry as one would think. The best way to measure it is to fill the bag with tiny little balls and dump them into a measuring unit - which we have NOT done for any bags so I can’t verify. All I can say is it’s more of an art than a science and many bag companies get it wrong. That’s why we always mention if the bag feels bigger or smaller than advertised

It's really hard to go wrong with Bellroy... they are masters at their craft. But putting dirty a$$ shoes in the main compartment like that is disgusting. I'm sure you guys can agree. You've seen the floor around urinals in the men's room, and the place "we try" to avoid stepping in. And then that gets tracked all over the place... blech. To think that goes straight into backpack next to other personal items is super gross. :) But hey, so when I pack shoes I'll remind you about Vivobarefoot shoes which are comfortable as imaginable. A pair of many of their shoes (size 13 US) fit very comfortably in the Eagle Creek Pack-It Isolate Slim Cube -Medium. The size reference is a 14.25 x 5 x 1.5 inch flat pouch. Cool review as usual! Actually this has been my travel backpack for over 6 months and is one of my favorites, just like my tech and other goodies backpack when im traveling, I carry my laptop on the tech area and the Bellroy Classic Pouch fits just like a glove in this big compartment on the laptop area, I think they did this on purpose. I’m quite happy with the bag, the only two things I’m complaining after a lot of airports hours with it on my back is just the same as you. I’d like an exterior bottle compartment because if you use a thick water bottle, like the Yeti 18oz Rambler it occupies lots of space of the main compartment. But my main complaints are the shitty straps man, they’re absolutely crap. I don’t know why the hell they did this horrible stuff with the straps… yes, they’re good looking but after some hours, they’re extremely uncomfortable. In comparison with my Bellroy Classic Backpack whose back panel and straps like an expensive memory foam mattress, the Bellroy Transit Workpack back panel and straps feels like a shitty road motel bed. Also the heat dissipation are terrible, I live in a quite hot city, mostly 35°c for the most part of the year, and after some time (im not a sweaty person) I feel how my back gets warm and sweaty. Also, I feel the back straps get loose very easily.

This review is for the smaller Bellroy Transit Workpack (20L), but the backpack pictured in the thumbnail is actually the larger Bellroy Transit Backpack (28L). You’re welcome.

Love these new Bellroy bags but it kills me that they don’t have external water bottle storage. I just can’t bring myself to stick a water bottle inside a backspace, sitting right next to thousands of dollars of electronics.
@Nomads.Nation3 жыл бұрын
Totally get where you are coming from dude, it's a polarizing choice on Bellroy's part

No water bottle compartment! I don’t understand why backpacks don’t do that. It’s such an essential to stay hydrated
@Nomads.Nation3 жыл бұрын
Well technically you can carry the water bottle inside the pack.

@@Nomads.Nation yeah but putting your water bottle inside your bag where your tech gear is probably not ideal
@Nomads.Nation3 жыл бұрын
@@kh5322 for me personally I don't mind it if it's a nice water bottle. My current bottle from Columbia has a very secure closing - but yes, I 100% agree, def not ideal :)

nice review bro. I watched a couple of reviews on KZbin and I think I am gonna buy either this one or the "Transit Backpack" one with 28L. I intend to use it for going to work, travelling aboard, even holding my tennis racket and etc. Just the last thing I wanna do is check the real bags before I order online. While I'm watching your review, I'm like "wait, you're living in HongKong 😂??" I visited a bunch of its associated retail stores and couldn't fine one. It seems there is another store named "kapok" in Tsim Sha Tsui K11 MUSEA shopping mall. I'm gonna go check it tmr. Just hope I can finally find this Transit series backpacks
@Nomads.Nation2 жыл бұрын
Yo dude! Have you checked out Suburban? There’s one in CWB and one in Kwon Tong - they usually have tons of Bellroy products stocked
@JackCkk002 жыл бұрын
Oh, not yet. Thanks bro. Will definitely go check it out later then. The stores I visited are “log-on”, they got 0 bellroy product wtf

@@JackCkk00 yea log on is OK but no GREAT brands. Suburban is literally the GOAT - they carry all the best bags

Gr8 review as usual. HOWEVER, even tho my basic, multi-pocket molle backpack has TWO large side zipper compartments (liquid+umbrella), love that I can just carabiner my 32oz Hydrology for easy reach around unclip without losing stride! BTW, as I never know what I need to buy when I leave home, I am NEVER without some carrier on my person: backpack with AER Day Sling X-Pac or just the Day Sling when just casual.
@Nomads.Nation3 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! Interesting that you carabiner your water bottle on the outside - something I've never done. I imagine it flops around a lot though?

I think you have put too much emphasis on the internal pocket that Bellroy has simply chosen to market as a pocket for gym shoes. It does not have to be for just that purpose. It could be a pocket for a tablet. Or for notes or books.
@Nomads.Nation2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree that the pocket has multiple functionalities, but I also think as a reviewer it’s important for me to show ppl the reality of different features. If someone needs this bag for its shoe compartment, I think they will be disappointed
