They feel like shit with anywhere near enough load to be effective. Pendulum and hack squats are way better. I like to drop to the bottom on hack squats and go up halfway and then bottom again and then stand up all the way as 1 rep. 8 to 12 of those will destroy your quads.

It's a specialty belt. It's about like a dip belt that has a chain. A belt squat belt has multiple rings to hook into, so you can adjust it to suit you.

Yes you ahould probably have a narrower stance than the rock here, but everyones anatomy is different and different people have have different ideal stance for their typical anatomy tho but yes he does stand akwardly wide with his feet

In 6’2”, and it’s not that hard (if you have ANY kind of mobility) to at least touch your hamstrings to your calves. Maybe not butt, but some length of that muscle chain in the “rear” is possible for tall people.

Not necessarily, and at this point he’s giving up so much ROM that if this is true then his exercise selection isn’t great. I think if anything he might just have to adjust the machine or have it modified but I think he can step closer, he might have to set up further back

I had to open my stance to limit my mobility. I can sit really deep, but man it rounds my spine under and i an recovering from a back injury from it. With a wide stance i still hit a little below 90, but my lower back doesn't round. It isn't an ankle mobility issue either. Just something weird in my back : /

$0.02: Squat shoes + hack squat were magic for me (leg press, too, but hacks just feel better imo). Always felt pain with RDL's, too, but recently stumbled across a great cue of imagining pouring out a bucket (see vid at Jack Hanrahan's channel for details), and I'm finally not feeling it in my back.

I believe belt squats are good because it gets rid of all pressure and fatigue on your back and spine but I couldn’t tell you personally because my back is fine. I have noticed belt squats are easier on my back tho

Yeah, I’m 6’4” and when i tried going that deep I had lasting pain in my quad tendons for about 2 weeks. Not good. To be fair I’m only like 6 months back in the gym regularly, but I am currently just doing 90° squats to protect my knees bc that wasn’t fun

@@ambond7all it did for me was build my tendon strength! Im 6’1 with large femurs for context. The deeper i started going with squats the better it felt on my knees. You may want to try lowering the weight and adding a pause at the bottom for a moment.
