Jimmy Page is notorious for changing the interpretation of Zep songs from show to show - makes sense that artists who cover their songs do the same --- called creativity

This song was one of the most experimental studio recordigs Jimmy page and the band ever did.. from the drum sound and recording in a stairwell to the harmonica and guitar in some parts is played forwards and backwards at the same time… this song is «impossible» to play live the same as led zeps studio version… thats why there is no official live version any where…. Jimmy page is very select in the quality of every relase… this is a super live version…

@@magmaz9465 you're absolutely right..... see my comment of 7 months ago regarding Ben's versatility....he's not just a blues guy or a folkie, he'll try just about anything....as far as duplicating LZ's studio version, I think interpreting a song in your own style is what makes an artist good ( or, sometimes, bad )......for a raw, gutsy, bluesy, pared down version check out the Danielle Nicole band's live versions...

No, you're thinking of Roy Harper. This is Ben Harper. Roy Harper is a British folk artist and an influence on both Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I believe he did the vocal on "Have a Cigar." He was friends with David Gilmour and Jimmy Page.

Glad he at least paid tribute to Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy in 1929, who wrote the song. Zeppelin never gave credit to them until they were forced to. I love Zep's version, but don't understand why they never gave credit to so many who's songs they plagiarized. They would have been just as famous and popular had they.
