I think what makes the crying part so sad is that you finally get to see that Ben was hurt by their breakup despite being the one to sort of initiate the breakup. It’s even sadder when in the next episode Ben says he and his family bottle things up and are non confrontational.

Parks is the best sitcom ever, Leslie and Ben is the best love story ever and Adam Scott is one of the best comedy actors who ever lived. The moment at the end of this episode when he swishes the Batman cape after fixing Andy and April's router problem is so understated you almost miss it, but it's one of the best jokes in the whole series. Wonderful, just wonderful.

Adam is such a great actor. And Ben is easily my favourite character. Trumps Ron in every way (and I think Nick gives a profound and uncontestable touch to the character of Ron). Even this seen is just utterly heartfelt, and nearly made me tear up a bit. He really was struggling. Who knows what could have been of Ben if he wasn't recognised by Donna... just extremely great stuff all around.

Yeah as the others said budgeted treats. Rather than going crazy like these guys do every once in a while buy something that you’d really like that’s more expensive than what you usually spend, say a couple hundred dollars (or gifts that total up to that much). It’s still a treat but not something you’d have to worry about being like super crazy expensive or anything.
