I caught the Benchmade bug about a year ago. Since then, I have a purchased 3 knives from BM. Hands down, the Bugout is the winner. If I lost this knife, I would be right back at the store for another. The blade just doesn't lose its edge. Can't feel it in the pocket yet it feels substantial in the hand. What's not to love? Yeah the price kind of sucks, just don't loose it!! I also picked up the mini grip in 20cv with the drop-point blade, another great knife for about 55 dollars more. But still.. I can't stop raving about the Bugout.

Thanks for the review. I've been carrying this knife for over a year, it is amazing. One thing I especially like is the color - I see no point in having a camo knife that wouldn't catch your eye if you dropped it. For lefties, I recommend switching the clip so that it doesn't open in your pocket and stab your finger. Once I did that, no issues.

Great review! I ordered mine on the 24th! For the past several years, I have been carrying Victorinox, and I was ready for a change.

Thanks so much for doing this video. It helped me to feel more confident in using the Bugout, and now I really love the knife. I see what all the fuss is about. I have plenty of overbuilt and full liner folders, but having this ultra light option just makes my rotation that much better. It's the ideal general purpose slicer to pair with a concealed compact tactical fixed blade, which is my usual.

You said that you CAN'T baton with this knife. However, you absolutely CAN baton with it. What you should have said is you SHOULDN'T baton with it. Check out the review done on this same knife by Advanced Knife Bro to see this knife's performance while batoning. Great review man.

Ian Osborne I have seen the review. You CAN baton with any knife, but not if you want it to last haha

#RevHiker I absolutely love the Bugout, enough so that I got the tan/gray one they just came out with too. I am not an ultra-light hiker, so I don't really look for that on an outdoor folder. I prefer a folder with a more full handle for outdoors, but this knife is amazing as an EDC blade. To each their own though, fun review as always!
@jacksoncavaness35396 жыл бұрын

Preordered mine of BladeHQ. You have confirmed I did the right thing by ordering it early. Already carry a 940 daily but this may retire that knife. Would love to know how it sharpens up eventually because I have a tough time with my 940.
@RevHiker7 жыл бұрын
Bill Pizzoferrato I sharpened it last night. It was a little easier than the 940 because the stock is thinner. Took a great edge. I think you'll be very happy with it

Bill Pizzoferrato i own a bug out.... I owned a 940... (The knive gods will strike me dead for this) i sold my 940 after i got the bugout. It does everything the 940 does but better... Lol like cut stuff. Its really a great knife.

Perfect example of why I enjoy knife Thursday. It could have been months before I found out about this knife. Looks like a great knife and I really like the color. I know this is off subject but what kind of watch are you wearing? I noticed it in your last hiking videos and I'm interested in it.
@RevHiker7 жыл бұрын
Mad Martigan it's a somewhat cheap timex expedition
@madmartigan87747 жыл бұрын
@RevHiker The "scout"? I'd call it in expensive vs cheap. Timex makes good watches. At least in my opinion they do. I really like the timex weekender which comes in a wide variety of flavors. Won't break the bank either

I dont think titanium wears well. Lets look at titanium frame locks. They wear down pretty fast. So im bit worried that titanium axis lock bar would wear out fast
@RevHiker7 жыл бұрын
Sara Chenn couple differences... ti framelocks slap and scrape into place on two sharp edges. The axis slides into place with one round surface and another smooth ramp surface. The axis bar is always rotating slightly and contacting the tang in a different place, which spreads out the wear. Also, with benchmades excellent warranty and customer service, IF it wears out 5 years down the road, they fix or replace it. There are also different ways to harden and hard anodize titanium... the lock has a hard finish on it to preserve it.
@sarachenn60497 жыл бұрын
RevHiker oh wow i did not know that. Thank you for teaching me. :)

Its not meant to beat the crap out of, its meant as a lightweight, thin EDC knife, and for that it works very well
@bassinbilliards62795 жыл бұрын
Its a great deal for the price. Ic its too exspensive id suggest going with Esee, Boker, Kershaw or Buck. This knife will go hand in hand with my Benchmade 943 Black. I ordered carbon fiber scales for an addition 60$. Thing is super gorgeous and works very well.

Ryan Sargent thought it was called a BUGOUT for a reason. What does Bugout mean then?
