Bending Solid White Oak

A friend of mine used more or less the same method with birch boards to make about 10 stacked bent frames, then planed and glued to make a beautiful reclining chair. Worked fine

Why didn't you run it through joiner and planer before it went in the water? Kind of a danger doing so after its bent. The ones that fail should have a slight curve to them use the to put clamps on the curves. That small space that was noticed probably will go away. Thanks for the strap idea you had a few good tips in this video

Bruh! best idea I've got from the boat builders is to steam it in place with a plastic bag... and oversteam it before, bend it to form, then steam it more, then stop the steaming. remove the clamps, remove the plastic bag.
