I watched behind the scenes video of him doing motion capture and voice for Smaug in The Hobbit,and he blew me away.Deep and dark and resonant and how much his body and movement was part of it.I had only heard him speak as himself,I didn't know what a tremendous instrument he had.He was crawling around on the floor in a onesie with odd bobbles on it, but because he wasn't self conscious,he could open up and let the sound,as well as the movement,flow.

@@vocabilities Hi Darren, I had a crazy idea. Mark Zuckerberg isn't necessarily known for being a great speaker, but over the years he's no doubt trained to improve. There is also plenty of footage of him from the early 2000's. I would be so curious of your expert opinion on how his voice has changed for better or worse. (Mark Zuckerberg isn't of specific interest, but he seems to be an example to make my point of a before and after.) Thanks Darren! All the best

Nice analysis. Despite his deep, clear and resonant vocals, he can't pronounce "penguins". One of little adorable things about benedryl carpetsnatch.

Hi, I'm from Taiwan. I've done a lot of effort searching voice training content on YT but it turned out to be that creators & viewer seem to like "singing training" more. Well, I don't sing, but I do want to improve my voice so that I can make other's enjoy when I'm speaking. I have a feeling, I am going to learn a lot form this channel.

Thank you very much for the video Darren! Unfortunately, I have some issues with my voice. Every time I sing I get a sour throat the next day or just in a couple of hours. Does this mean that I am not relaxed while singing? Can this result in me losing my voice? How can I relax? Are there any exercises I can do for it? (Sorry for asking too many questions, I hope you'll answer soon)

@@vocabilities Actually sometimes it feels as if his voice is not so good, but I hear people saying that his speeches are great, I also like them. It seemed like a contradiction, that's why I asked you sir , about your opinion 😇
@prosodiac5 ай бұрын
Unpopular opinion, I don’t really find his voice so intriguing. It has a very dominant lower resonance and it lacks a bit of clarity and nasal resonance. His articulation seems effortless, but not that utterly clear and he’s one of these examples of nowadays male actors who train their voice to be really deep. I don’t like this for several reasons. It kind of makes all male voices sound the same, just very deep manly, impressive and dominating but it also lacks acoustic brilliance. What I also don’t like so much - he has a slight vocal fry that you can hear in many scenes for example in the TV series Sherlock. For my taste he’s focusing too much on the effect and too little on balance and that can get annoying when you listen to it for a longer time.

Half-jest/half-serious: Do a video about how Donald Trump is so influential in front of a crowd, when - by all measures - he's a really terrible public speaker. Or maybe he is a good public speaker, but I don't think so.
