I’m already a convert to KerryGold butter. The difference between KerryGold and regular butter is like day and night. Haven’t tried Ghee yet. A friend of mine eats that Promise spread crap. I told her she was eating plastic. The grass fed butter is my splurge.

So I was expecting more keto people to jump on this. Old info here... your total cholesterol might increase on a high fat diet but HDL goes up and LDL particle size is transformed from the small dense harmful particles from eating sugars to the larger non harmful LDL. Update your cholesterol knowledge! Butter is good for your heart! Go keto and get healthy!

indeed true, when reducing carbs you don't have to be scared of saturated fat. I eat tons of it.

You can’t eat too much butter anyway. But butter is good for you and you should eat it as much as you like. Cholesterol isn’t bad for you, what’s bad for you and what causes all of those heart issues and clogged arteries and inflammation is sugar/glucose. Cholesterol comes to the rescue but gets caught up in the sugar funk blocking the arteries. Cholesterol does not cause heart issues. Watch other doctors with up to the time information. Butter, ghee and animal fats are your best friends.

Using the term clarified butter on ghee labels is used to help people understand what it is, however, technically ghee and clarified butter is different. Yes ghee is clarified, however, simmering it for longer not only changes the taste, but also changes the length of the fatty acid chains. Because of this it has a different action on the body and why it's been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic Medicine.

As an Indian, I have been eating ghee since my childhood and never had any health issues. And the irony is, so-called "diet freak Indians" stopped eating ghee because West said. Now, you guys learnt and anyways "diet freak Indians" will follow :)

What's that thing regarding lipopolisaccharide endotoxin test with the whipped cream about? and that argument of ingesting Orange Juice or vitamin C with the fat to lower the endotoxin load on the body?. Does it have to do with butter as well? Or is it a completely different thing?

The color is not relevant, in Europe we have different grass-fed butter and the colors are different. The expression that the Butter is " better "than oils is not correct. Oils from plants are " poisonous " and Butter & Ghee are " pro-life " product,

For cooking I’m using a little of avocado oil, 2-3 tsp and add some butter. That is in a medium pan for 3-4 serving of meat or vegetables. I know cooking with oil is bad, but avocado oil is also bad for cooking at medium-low fire?

I make ghee from grass fed butter same brand which you showed. I keep taking out the frothy part which is caesin and lactose with while butter is turning into ghee in stove top and later strain once warm with a cotton cloth kept over the strainer. Do Tou think still my ghee might have caesin and lactose content ?

Mihir Tube yeah, it’ll still have a TINY bit in there. But the dose makes the poison. I’d bet money that the ghee you make at home is just as pure as the stuff at the store.

Not exactly. Ghee can be made a couple of different ways. The most cost effective method is to cook butter until all of the water content is evaporated and the solids have precipitated and floated to the top. This oil is then filtered. When prepared and packaged properly ghee can keep without refrigeration for years. Clarified butter is a culinary term. One can make clarified butter quickly on the stovetop from butter. It is used in cooking. But, the shelf life of clarified butter is only several days, and it is best refrigerated. It is shorter lived than ghee because it still has some moisture in it, and the solids have not been browned as thoroughly, which means that there are going to be more of those solids still left in clarified butter than in ghee. Traditional ayurvedic ghee is made from raw yoghurt, which is then churned. Naturally, such a product is considerably more expensive to produce, than cooking off sweet cream butter. So, all ghee made from butter is clarified butter. But not all ghee is made in this manner. And, it is possible to make clarified butter that is not ghee, by "drawing" butter without taking the time necessary to ensure that all of the moisture is boiled off. Note that ghee is much lower in casein than butter is; but it is not true that ghee is utterly devoid of casein. Those who are casein sensitive may still have trouble with ghee. Some brands of ghee are tested for casein content.
