Something the RAF is really lacking in compared to the other forces is KZbin videos or documentaries showing the recruitment process. I would love to see something like Raw Recruits for the RAF. I've got my PRTC date and I've really struggled to find information throughout my application whenever I've searched for it. For the other forces this is easily accessible. The only media source people applying to the RAF have to go off is a 6 year old blog.

But I'd say after the first 2 weeks, you become somewhat accustomed to waking up early. The first 2 weeks are the most hectic of the 10 weeks. The food doesn't really change but they seem to serve pollock at the mess every day 😂 phase 2 is somewhat more laid back. I'm currently at home for the weekend and go back on Sunday. Don't think you will ever get to use that running track. If you dare run round it at the weekend on your down time. Some 89 year old MOD civil servant caretaker will cough and wheeze his way up to you with his broom and chase you away, with threats of ringing the RAF Police. Speaking of which, when I was in one of them rooms back in the early 2000s someone wrote an angry anonymous letter to one of the training NCOs. Someone had to own up because if they didn't they would ring the RAF police and they would go round the blocks take all the pens and test the ink in their forensic labs. We laughed our heads off at that one. Then a point was made that the RAF Police Flt at Cosford had so much time on their hands, it was quite possible testing pen ink was one of the many trivial things they did to fill up their extremely long 22 year careers. So with that in mind the lads which done it went and owned up to it.

It has to be a number one place for anyone who wants to get on and who likes people. The RAF requires less "green work" than the other (Army, Royal Marines) services, and may be more attractive to women and men who prefer to be base centred. Good luck.
