Bengals On The Brain Episode 54 | D-Line Evaluations Leonard Taylor III and Kris Jenkins

As the NFL season winds down with Super Bowl teams set, we continue working towards the 2024 NFL Draft, where the Cincinnati Bengals are currently sitting with the No. 18 pick.
Where will the Bengals look to shore up their roster?
One area we've been evaluating is the defensive line. Will DJ Reader return for the 2024 season? Is there a top defensive lineman to pick in the first or second round?
In Episode 54 of Bengals On The Brain with Joe Goodberry, presented by First Star Logistics, we continue evaluations on defensive linemen with a look at Leonard Taylor III from the University of Miami and Kris Jenkins from Michigan.

Not huge on Taylor but Jenkins would be great in the 2nd round

I watched a few 2022 tape's... you can definitely see the potential as a 3Tech

Right now, Jenkins is a better player than Taylor, and he's a safer pick. Jenkins will go in the 2nd round and Taylor will likely go in the 3rd or maybe 4th round.

Pass rush will prolly get Taylor drafted higher & he wasn't used right. He also has much higher potential to bust.

Looks very strong Taylor does.. thinking as you, and quite possibly using him at a end , he seems pretty quick, and his does seem to play with head up… to me that makes him playing with awareness.. imo

Jenkins has put on 20lbs each of the last 2 off seasons. I wonder if he's done or keeps filling out to dad nose tackle size.

I would take Taylor but not at 18, I am thinking we should trade back and get more picks in the top 175 players taken… and try to stack as much talent as possible…

What about Graham from Michigan... I haven't watched his tape but he flashes as a good pass rusher when you see Michigan games. 3 tech material maybe 🤔

Leonard Taylor was used wrong. A guy I listen to said he had the highest pass rush win rate from the 3-tech position. Seems more 3rd rnd guy that could end up being a steal. He didn't look good playing nose, so maybe he last little longer. He supposedly has a bull rush that can be nasty.

No offense, but Jenkins instincts on where to move and how to move are quite superior to Taylor's...plays lower...better prospect than taylor
