A couple decides to live together in a live-in relationship and they intentionally or unintentionally reproduce a kid after an year or so. Later they develop differences and either of the partner leaves the other partner and kid. In that case, who would be responsible for the upbringing, education and taking care of the kid till he/she comes to age? What if the partner who was taking care of the kid also abandons the kid? What would be the future of that kid? However, there is absolutely nothing wrong if an adult couple engage in a live-in relationship as long as they don't have a kid.

I’m a Bangalorean but I don agree with live in relationship… instead of staying together u can meet every 2nd day if possible … also live in relationship has a negative impact if both the partners part ways… n this is also a very west culture which doesn’t suit us … waha to bache bhi ho jaate hai and den too they part ways …let’s stay rooted to our culture….

I think live-in relationships show a lack of willingness to commit. Problems can arise at any point in life, in live-in relationships or marriage but if the couple is more committed to the relationship, they will find a way to work on it and solve them instead of separating. There are non negotiable things that can be communicated before marriage but other than that, I don't think you need to live together to find out what kind of person you are marrying. (Just my opinion)

All those young people are not Bengalureans. They are outsiders. Try to interview native Bengaluru people who know Kannada. Their perspective will be different from these people.

Locals are living with their families. So, obviously, they can't go against the Indian culture. But let's say there is a girl/boy from UP who lives in Bengaluru. Do you think this boy's/girl's father would know what he/she does in Bengaluru? So, people from other parts of the country can live-in-relationship and have sex to their hearts' content without facing any consequences.

@@aditya-ml6km you guys follow sh*tty western culture and call it cool. 🤡 If they had b@lls they would commit to the relationship and get married. Not like today's generation who sleep with n number of people like a h0e, with no clarity in mind (situationship, live in💩), lust lust lust.

This life is like going to hotel when one has hunger and visiting different hotels the next day. This totally the family fabric, culture, language and other aspects in life and finally die alone or in old age home

If both the people are committed and are ready to marry in the near future then live-in is a good option otherwise it'll only spoil your life.

Few of the youths you have questioned are outsiders and their views doesn't represent Bangalore. We people of Karnataka respect our culture and we are against these western way of handling relationships. Don't try to set false narrative by questioning wrong people.

Live-in relationships are just a mere western template now catching on in India. In India, live-in relationships are becoming more common, but there are some challenges to be aware of. Social stigma is still an issue, especially in more traditional communities, and families might not always be supportive. Legal aspects can be a bit unclear compared to formal marriages, and financial arrangements may not be as straightforward. Some worry about the long-term stability and commitment in live-in relationships, and there can be cultural or religious differences to navigate. Social support may not be as strong, and there could be concerns about how children born out of such relationships are perceived. However, attitudes are changing, especially in urban areas, and over time, these challenges may become less prominent as societal views continue to evolve. In Western cultures, living together before marriage, known as cohabitation, is totally normal and widely accepted. People often see it as a practical step in a relationship, a chance to test compatibility, or simply a valid choice for long-term commitment. The legal side varies, with some places offering rights to cohabiting couples, while others may not be as formal. Many couples opt for cohabitation to share expenses and delay marriage until later in life, focusing on personal and career goals first. It's also common for children to be born to unmarried couples, and overall, diverse relationship models are increasingly recognized and embraced. While attitudes can still differ based on factors like religion and individual values, cohabitation is a prevalent and accepted part of modern relationships in the Western world.
