What pile of sh*t...I don't know why people love these so much. Lets see...40k, for plastic dash and door panels, cloth seats, hybrid manual electric driver seat, and what fully manual passenger? "Oh this does have dual climate control" oh wow... $40k and it has dual climate control. Interior is cramped, back seat is cramped, and you get a standard metal bed. This is the very reason I would get the new Ridgeline any day of the week for it's usability, looks, build, and overall usefulness and especially it's drivability. Oh ok, it can only tow 5k pounds...which 95% won't tow that much anyways. If you are you should get a full size anyways. For $40k I get vastly superior driving vehicle, improved interior (both in build quality and space), composite bed that can hold a full size sheet of plywood, a huge lockable in bed cargo area, and a rear gate that swings down and out (duel functionality). I don't see the draw to a Ford, or a Tacoma or any of that unless you need an off-road truck...with lockable diffs etc...then you go with a traditional truck. Prove me wrong. I honestly want to know why the draw to Fords...I'm not bashing I just want to know?

Hi Ben, a great review of the freaking Ranger XLT. Living in Australia we don't get the same model's as the US. The latest Ranger XLT is more luxurious than past models. My son brought a Ranger XLT 3.5L Turbo and manual gearbox, he has done about 90,000 kilometers (about 50,000 kilometers without doing the maths). The vehicle has had a number of issues prior to the warranty ran out. The front sensor keep falling out, front tyres wear rather quickly due to no camber/caster adjustments. Dealer says it's normal for the XLT. The body is riding on the "bump stops" which means he needs to replace springs and shocks. My son installed a roo bar to protect the front of vehicle in case of hitting a kangaroo, calf or other wild animals. The type of roo bar was recommended by the dealer as it was covered by Ford warranty. Australian Rangers have a factory problem made wheel nuts which have a pressed on nut covers. The wheel nuts remover won't fit the expanded external nut cover. Apparently in the US there is a legal action against Ford for this very problems on most Ford produced vehicles. He paid AU$67,590 for the Ranger XLT, three years later all he can get as a trade in is less than AU$20,000. Ford defently need to improve their workmanship on most of the vehicles. Thanks again for the great presentation. Make your day a great one.

I wonder if any manufacturer will offer a true luxury mid size truck on PAR with their full size trucks. I work construction and have recently switched from a work truck to a Ford Transit AWD high cab with the extended length. It has been absolutely transformative in my work life. All my tools, all my materials and even a microwave and fridge keep me on the job with very few extra trips to the hardware and lumber yard. So I find myself with kids grown and really looking for a mid size truck but I’m an old man who has had 5 back surgeries, both knees and right foot rebuilt. I hurt everywhere. So I love the platinum I sold that had heated and cooled seats, heated wheel, and adjustability to really make my long drives to see grandkids and family comfortable. So if there are any manufacturer employees who read comments. Make a true luxury mid size truck on PAR with your full size trucks…. I did look at the GMC Canyon Denali… but it’s just a basic truck with leather, heated seats and a little hardwood. Just not luxury for $52,000 in my opinion. Good review

I'm a full size truck man all the way too. My F150 gets the same mileage as mid sized, way more capable and pretty much the same price.

@@drewelliott9062 Exactly! I would never bother with a midsize truck..A full size is almost the same price and the mileage isn’t much different why only buy half a truck? LOL

I also prefer the full size but there is a place for the midsize if you want to park it in the garage or live in a busy area and need something capable that isn’t as big.

In Europe these are really common. The F150 are considered oddballs (pedhaps for their size they are not imported by official Ford dealers).

How is it in size difference on the inside in the driver seat? I’m on the fence. For me I kinda like the way the Ranger looks way more than the f150. I wish the f150 would look exactly like the Ranger but in full size. In my opinion the Ranger should be in the $25-$30K *range* max and not in the +$40Ks. I’m used to drive GMC and Infinity and when I see the Ford’s interiors and the Ford’s electronics, it feels like a 90 years old guy designed it. It looks cheap. Like if the bastards decided to use the most simplistic cheapest thing’s available to save a buck. It does not look modern at all inside. That another thing that has me on the fence. Ford should really step up and catch up with other brands and put more details in their vehicles interiors electronics(radio/touch screen/a 2nd gps screen, etc.). But I still love the way the Ranger looks from the outside. I’m going to have to go to a dealer to get inside it to see if I fit comfortably inside fir a big guy.
@bobbymiller52973 жыл бұрын
@@americancitizen1885 if your a big guy. Please don't get the ranger. My dad was a big guy and he hated it and had to trade it back in. The ranger is much smaller inside. Your head room is lower cuz cieling is lower. Less leg room in front and way less leg room in back seat. Plus it's not as wide inside. The bed of truck is smaller too, so if you wanna haul a atv or something. I would compare ranger more to a SuV size wize inside. I would really recommend f150. It's much more roomy and leg room and height inside. FORD is much better quality than GMC, Dodge or Chevy. I've owned them all. I've had 2 GMC, 3 Chevy and 1 Dodge and their junk. I had vtoo many problems to list. They all left me sitting a couple times. The past 6 years now I've had all Fords. Ford hasn't let me sit once. Ford is #1 selling truck for 50 years for a reason. I really liked the looks and interior of GMC, but their just junk. I got sick of repair bills. Ford may not be as pretty and stuff inside. But their more built like tough like a truck and quality. Ford has best resale value as well.

@jamilinbixler32843 жыл бұрын
The cost between a regular ranger and an f150 will not be very far apart at the dealer , in some cases the f150 will be cheaper. So if you were to get the ranger raptor it will be at the cost of a very high end f150, maybe not a f150 raptor price but surprisingly closer than you think.

Seems expensive for a little truck. The world is so crazy right now. I was looking to replace my f150 with something with better MPG since gas is crazy. But for the price of this, I’m not saving any money. Might as well keep my f150 and deal with the high gas prices.

The 2.3L-EB does not have the dual fuel rail delivery system like the 2.7EB and the 3.5EB. I would strongly suggest installing an aftermarket catch can to resolve carbon buildup on the backside of the intake valves.

I bought a used '21 Ranger XLT earlier this year after looking at a few used Tacomas. I found that, for the same price or more than what I payed for my truck, the Tacomas were higher milage, lower package and worse condition. I test drove a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road with 50k miles at the same dealer I bought my truck from, and wanted $2,000 more and the truck was in relatively poor cosmetic shape inside and out. It's honestly a perfect little truck for what I use it for. I think everybody told me that I would be tradijg it back in shorly for a half ton, because I'm 6'2", but now I just think it's funny to hear someone a half a foot shorter than me tell me that the cab is too cramped.

Bought a '21 in March. XLT 2WD, black package, nav and tech package. Loving it,,,but,, the stereo is trash. All the typical Ford functions and layout, but has the output wattage of a '79 am radio. You ain't gonna be "rockin out". I didn't get a chance to hear the B&O upgrade, but it's gotta be worth the money. The rest of the truck is rock solid.
