The 7.3L should have 445 HP and 513ft.lbs to be on par with GM with the 6.6L V8 in performance per unit of displacement.

Had the exact truck. Got rid of it. Weak engine. Struggling pulling my camper. 10 speed transmission is garbage. Was in the shop 3 time for transmission. Would give you whiplash when it shifted from 7th to 8th gear.

The motor needs a power boost. Ours is lacking in power especially when hooked up to our trailers. our 7.3 Godzilla is a much better engine and the tranny downshifts better than the GM. Otherwise, we love the truck

Drove both ford and chevy 3/4 tons with all 3 engines, 6.6, 6.8 and 7.3. Got to drive both the 6.8 and 7.3 with 3.73 and 4.30 driveline. Ended up with xlt 6.8 with 4.30's which has a deeper final drive ratio than the chevy 6.6. This 6.8 truck is responsive and will not come out of the overdrive gears going up a 6% grade at 7500 feet altitude. As others have commented, the chevy needs a 4.10 option as it just a heavier truck than the ford.

Chevy needs to redesign that front end, GMC looks good though but not paying extra for styling. I’ll have to see how the Allison pans out with it for a while. Never been a fan of GM, but HD ram isn’t in the cards unless they change the Hemi gas to a Cummins gas power plant.

The 6.6L V8 L8T is built on a cast-iron Small Block, enabling it to have long-term durability. Thanks to aluminum heads and direct injection, the engine delivers more precise fuel control resulting in a higher compression ratio of 10.8:1. That enables a power output of 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque (in the 2020 Silverado HD and 2020 Sierra HD), with strong performance at low rpm, where it is needed when pulling away with a loaded cargo box or trailer. The L8T also features a forged steel crankshaft, forged powder-metal connecting rods and additional high-strength components to provide the added strength and durability demanded by Heavy Duty truck customers. The L8T replaces the 6.0L V8 L96 / LC8 engine and makes over 11 percent more horsepower and over 21 percent more torque. Interestingly, the L8T does not use GM fuel saving technologies such as Active Fuel Management (AFM), Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM), or Auto Stop-Start (ASS).

i like the setup ,but would prefer the GMC , i feel the Chevy is just ugly !
