afrobeat 😭💓 i’d suggest checking out makorokoto by the four brothers and shauri yako (dunno the specific artist); they’re both zimbabwean (specifically shona) songs that differ quite a bit from east and west african afrobeat but still with amazing guitar work

I love this! I remember, when people would leave the camp, and go on adventures. And when they came back, describing what they had seen, and what they had done, and who they had met, it never made any sense. Because it seemed like the words they used and the sentences they made from them were almost entirely unknown things-and unknown combinations of things. Later, you would see people playing live, lifesize foosball-with living human foosball players "attached" to giant control rods-and you would realize exactly what they had all been talking about!
