Does the RF29DB9750QL have the same positive design elements as well? As someone who uses about half his fridge space for beverages, and has a big garage freezer, the four door idea of being able to use half that lower space as fridge space rather then freezer space really appeals to me.

I have the counter depth version of this, fantastic refrigerator coming from an LG and Samsungs, took a leap of faith and I am glad I did. It's completely different from the previous decade's line. This seems to be a rebranded Dacor, the high end brand that Samsung acquired. A few additional notes: It has both lower and upper grab slots to open the door with a clean look and no handles taking up depth space. I prefer the upper slots as a taller guy and you get used to not using/ needing handles. Color on the panels is only in front... the sides are not color-matched which might be an issue if yours sticks out because you'll see a different color. Panels can be dry erasable but it can definitely stain. Works with Smart things for stuff like door open notifications. I've had the pitcher since the previous version and it's been a game changer and I can't go back. Fill quick, but sometime has issues auto-filling if the overflow pan is full, but simple process to clear. Finally, be sure to check swing angles, it's not just about the opening width.

It SEEMS maybe to be working better, but still it rarely seems to keep it below 40. 40 is the magic number for safe food - don't even know why it can be set higher, unless someone isn't putting food in it.

I have the 4 door, counter depth, with the beverage center for 4 years now. It's been good so far. Gets used a ton by our full size family with 5 kids. Only issue is with the beverage center pitcher. The auto fill doesn't work all the time. What I found is that the magnetic sensor that relays to the fridge to fill, doesn't line up perfectly anymore. When I place the empty pitcher back into the fridge I have to pull it back very slightly for the magnet and sensor to line up.

I was replacing a fridge that died, and couldn't wait 4 months.) However, I got the 4-door Flex that is essentially the same. Due to mobility issues, I simply can't utilize a big drawer freezer -- I can't reach to get to everything. I have the Beverage center, and I love this fridge. I love the two sizes of ice, and I love the four doors. The freezer space is so much more efficient to use than the side-by-side Frigidaire I replaced. I can see everything and get to everything. I use the infuser on the water pitcher in the Beverage Center all the time in the summer... continuously brewing iced tea!

The whole thing is that these may have one of the best sealed systems on the market. When people hate Samsung, it's usually for the icemaker. I was getting out from under a 5 and 1/2-year-old LG on its third failure. I had watched a video of yours recently discussing how nobody made a rock solid refrigerator anymore. You discussed all the problems that came with complexity and what to avoid. Having not seen any of your other videos on Samsung apparently I chose this one because it ticked all the boxes. So far so good. It is nice to see that my choice wasn't completely off base. Despite the fact this is the same volume as my previous refrigerator reorganizing the interior and getting rid of handles saved me almost 4 in of floor space. Last year my Kemore Elite with the LG compressor died. Went shopping and no one had a white french door frig. Went online and Samsung had the Beskoke with white glass panels in 25 cuft. Ordered it online and they threw in a three year warrenty instead of one plus an extra set of glass panels in a color I hate and no choice but with free delivery and fast. It is a love hate relationship. I miss the handles and magnets don’t stick to it. The drawers store a lot of food. $200 worth or groceries fit in the drawers. Yes, I had to have Samsung make a warrenty call. The freezer drawer gasket leaked. The tech came out when I scheduled online. He replaced the gasket and he informed me that the drawer front was warped and needed to be replaced. He returned a week later and replaced it, all free under warrenty. He even answer some of my questions like the secrets about the magic pitcher and what to do when it does not fill up all the way.

Thanks for the info! As a note on the part of the video where I take off the glass panels - there's about a 1/4" gap between the glass and the steel backing. I wonder if you could line that gap with a magnetic metal that would allow something magnetic to adhere then to the glass...
@TexasEngineer9 ай бұрын
@@bensappliancesandjunk I had never thought of that. The tech showed me how to remove and replace a panel using the suction cup that Samsung supplied with the extra usless panels. I would like to get stainless panels someday when and if I change out the other white appliances and redo the kitchen, but I cannot find Samsung offering them at this time. The tech answered a question I had. Can I use dry erase markers on the glass? He said yes. I have not tried it yet and frankly I am a bit afraid to. Maybe I will try it on my scrap extra panels first. Until then Postit notes will have to work for me. FYI the sides are black magnetic steel to hang some junk on. The frig has a clean look to it without the magnets, but takes time to learn to live without magnets on the front. I am sure Samsung will put the refrigerator magnet industry out of bussiness. The Samsung tech was the greatest, really. I doubt another one exists as good and friendly as he was. I was very lucky.

Ours though is the model with the double door on the bottom, where the left houses the dual ice maker and some shelves and a drawer, and the right side can be switched from freezer mode to fridge temperature modes. I love that the freezer has pull out shelves instead of big deep bins. I know that for me, I'd have a difficult time keeping the deep bins organized. I love the idea that we can change out the glass panels to suit our tastes. We got the white for now and opted for the counter depth version. We ordered directly through Samsung. As a tech i like all the changes they have done except for the fact they went away from copper for the lines coming out of the cabinet. I have the lokring tool but i prefer brazing, and most leaks i find is in the aluminum/ epoxy connections and thinking that they buried they in the cabinet worries me for internal leaks. I see the cap tube off the 3 way valve is copper but in the ff section its all aluminum. My concern is where did they transition from from copper to aluminum.
@bensappliancesandjunk9 ай бұрын
Great comment. This is a very interesting opinion and one thing I kind of cut from the video was the 3 way valve and lack of a typical expansion valve in the refrigerator. At least on the old ones in the US you saw a lot of issues around the cap tube coming into fridge cabinet, but I didn't mention this because their choice was just so foreign I didn't want to make heads or tails of it

Best part is that I got it at Home Depot for only $1499. Great value, I think.

Hey Ben, awesome review of the Samsung Bespoke model fridge. I bought the previous model with the tablet in the door & the terrible ice maker. Never had any issues with the tablet but because I purchased the extended warranty, Lowes came to the rescue after years & constant problems with the ice maker,deemed it irreparable and returned the purchased price, which spoke wonders to me about Lowe’s, & the extended warranty. I would never purchase any high cost appliance without the extended warranty, especially with the Samsung moniker on it! The Bespoke model may save the day for Samsung refrigerators & consumer wariness!

Our 15 year old GE died a few months ago, so we bought this 3 door Samsung. So far we really like this one. It makes a lot of ice and the upper refrigerator area is very roomy compared to our old GE 3 door. The GE was notorious about the ice maker crapping out and the area under the party platter drawer always freezing up with a thick layer of ice that we had to keep chipping out so water wouldn’t run out onto the floor all the time.

Great video review Ben. I like your approach to evaluating products. You provide FREE sound advice. Thanks. After 2 years with the new 4dr Bespoke model in black stainless, I can add a few comments. It is by far the best of the dozen or so fridges I have ever owned. The autofill water in the hidden door is a life changer. Absolutely surprised me how useful it is. The split freezer with the deep door trays and sliding shelves is also next level cool. Issues? Minor so far. The dual icemakers are a little slower than those problematic legacy models, so you probably won’t be filling up your big drink coolers with ice from here. And the small ice bits tend to overfill at times leading to cubes spilling off the back of the small trays when you reach in for ice, or move the tray toward you. This may be a sensor flaw. The orphan cubes congregate on the tray below or near the bottom of the sloped cabinet where they are not that hard to remove occasionally. I really only have ONE HUGE complaint. My unit did not arrive with the LARGE WAD OF CASH in the crisper drawer, like yours. Where’s MY rebate SamSung?!?

We got the four door Samsung model, with two side by side freezers at the bottom. I hate the sliding bottom freezer - they tend to get hard to slide in and out over time, and the food just piles up on top of each other and you can't tell what you have accumulated over time. The two top door refrigerator doors open up to a single space, giving it a much more open huge feel close to that of a SubZero type wide refrigerator. Have been pretty happy so far with the refrigerator. And oh, I have the thing plugged into two surge protectors. You have to treat all these modern appliances like your most sensitive electronics and protect them from local surges in the electrical wiring of your house.

I bought the 3 door bespoke from Costco about 6 months ago and it's been solid so far. I opted to not get the beverage center and instead got one with just the autofill pitcher. The Samsung deal at Costco made it a pretty solid deal. The only thing I dislike so far is how quickly the fridge yells at you for having the door open, I almost never get the groceries in it before it goes off. It's a minor gripe though.

We bought this fridge with just the addition of the extra drawer. It has just the pitcher in the door since we have a separate water cooler anyway. Love the ice. Ours has a metal back wall. I have looked and researched extensively for a new fridge in my home that is being built currently. I am going with the Bespoke model but the 4 door version with the smaller doors and slide out tray. The main reason I liked that one better is because it fixes the problem you and several comments have already stated and it was obvious to me the second I tried it in the store. The lack of a handle means you have to reach under the door to open, which I like the clean look of, but with the 3 door model its *slightly* too low for my comfort requiring the ever smallest amount of bending which is annoying. The 4 door model (2 sliders) fixes this entirely as having the bottom of the main doors about 6 inches higher up puts them in the perfect location.

I bought this exact model in December. A few things you missed: the bottom refer drawer can on the right side can only be opened if both doors are opened, left side does not have this issue. The ice maker is loud upon the first fill of ice. This is due to the ice dropping on the empty plastic. Once the ice is dumped the water fill is loud for about 5 seconds while the trays are filled. The pitcher fills quickly, & will only do so while the doors are closed. Opening doors while filling will interrupt the fill until the door is closed. As a tall guy (6'3“) the beverage door handle is a bit inconvenient to grab. I tend to open the doors from the top pockets. As noted in another comment, the door open alarm is quick to let you know it's been opened for a prolonged time. It is also quick to send that info to the app. I got the stainless panels & they do pick up prints easily if your hands aren't clean. I may look into a matte black panel set in the future. The water dispenser will fill a 30oz bottle w/ cold water, completely. Being that I live in a rural area the service issues do concern me, I took the leap knowing that & bought the extended warranty from the retailer.

The super fun part is getting a text warning that the door is open. Seriously. We skipped the hub version and got the 4 door flex and the thing I like the most is the accessibility & the lights. I'm 5'5", reaching into the back of a fridge can be a challenge. We added a swing turntable to put small jars and leftovers on a lower shelf but it's a relief to reach in and access things on the top shelf without a step stool and the lights show everything, no more stuff hidden in shadows. The drawers in the freezer are game changers, we have one side for fruits, waffles & veg, one side for meats and freezer meals. We also turned off one ice maker, no one used it and it's now an ice pack storage tray. To make it easier, we put a small magnet over the handle for the beverage center to visually mark it for unfamiliar users. Frankly, the panels could be easily removed and covered with cling vinyl instead of purchasing new panels. Replacement panels are spendy. The doors & sides have the advantage of being magnet friendly (stainless panels may be an exception). Even though it's counter depth, it does have to stick out from the wall but the lack of handles keeps it from jutting out too far. Caveat on the Flex Zones: a power outage will reset your Flex Zones. If you were set up to freeze, you MUST reset to freeze when power is restored unless you like ice cream soup. Learned that the hard way after we turned off power to replace a lamp.

That tempered glass should make for a nice dry or wet erase marker surface, too. That's neat! I think the compressor in my 12.5-year-old Samsung is finally dying. It's become super loud, and the freezer keeps building up ice until it won't close completely. I think the ice maker is either busted or frozen over now, too. Going to have somebody check it out, but I might be buying a new one soon. I can't believe you've got me thinking about another Samsung! I've had relatively good luck with mine -- only a couple minor issues like a broken ice maker arm that were easy to fix. However, we had a really bad time with one of their ranges of the same age. The mainboard literally blew up, and my ex spent 10 months fighting with them back-and-forth to get it repaired. We finally got it fixed, though one of the active burner LEDs blew immediately after. I swore off Samsung for their bad service, but if I can find this one at Costco, I might do it. Looks like a relatively well-designed unit, and they're all just about equally cheaply made these days!
