thanks alot bro!! we have been without a light in my samsung fridge for about 2 years!!! i opened the roof section only to find some rat poop and a couple wires had been chewed through. I reconnected the wires, swept the rat poop off and wala! WE HAVE Liiiiight! our family had a moment, we gathered around the fridge i turned the kitchen lights off and asked my youngest to open the fridge door aaaaaaah thank you!

Thank you for this. It didn’t solve my problem but I’d like to share our resolution for those who are still searching for the fridge elixir. In our case my wife simply turned off the ice maker for an hour or so. Then when we turned it back on, no more beeping!!! ❤ but I appreciate the community effort to help each other out. Watched this video to help a cousin. He realized he placed some magnets near the top of the fridge around the time he noticed the issue. He removed the magnets and problem solved. The magnets had been intereferring with the sensor. Thanks for the video!

Seriously you just saved us so much money! We had taken our doors off to move the fridge and then one side wouldn’t work. I was about to go crazy when my girlfriend found your video. When you said the thing about the place marked as “Switch” I immediately jumped out of the couch because I knew our problem was exactly there! It turned out that while flipping the door of our new refrigerator, the guys that were doing it forgot to put the switch sensor back to its proper position on the frame on top of the refrigerator. Thank you so much about pointing out the “Switch” spot!!! I positioned it properly against the bump on the door and everything works as it should!!!

Hello, I tried your trick to see what was causing my Samsung french door refrigerator model RF268ABRS to play crazy musical beeping! The beep patterns can be just a couple of beeps or when it wants, a slew of beeps sometimes that goes on for five minutes or a hour or so. Then it will stop sometimes for a half of day to a full day, never the same. It’s very odd. A couple of clues for you. When it starts beeping, if I open one or both doors the crazy beeping will halt until I close the door. And, if I press the top Energy Saver and the Alarm buttons at the top of the panel together for about 15 seconds, I can stop the beeping for a while then it will start up again when it wants to. I’m hoping you can give me a tip or two on what to try before I have to pay a very costly service fee to just look at it. The unit is not having any issues cooling or freezing. The control panel was always unpredictable when pressing buttons and a couple icons don’t light up on the panel. I feel that it might be the display dispenser circuit board. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to figure the cause?

I’m exeriencing the same thing endless beeping on my Samsung French Door Refrigerator. The magnet worked for 2 days temp in frige was cool but display said 55. I really didn’t care that it read 55 as long as the temp inside was 37. Again only worked for a few days and it’s back to beeping.

I just bought my Samsung refrigerator from my cousin because he was moving. He said the refrigerator was working fine when he put it in storage. The alarm is beeping and I think it is because of the temperature. When we first plugged up the refrigerator, the temperature was 71 degrees. I unplugged the refrigerator and waited and the temperature came down to 59 degrees and now it is going back up to 63 degrees…. Why?

I can tell you if the beeping sound is the same sound when you switch from ice to water, the buttons are sticking. I have this exact fridge and I can see the water and ice buttons switching by itself. Funny story to add to my problem. My wife thought the house was haunted...so I told her ya, that's the only explanation. So we are moving soon....lol. I always hated this house! :)

Thanks so much for this video. My fridge was showing the energy save and chiming and after 2 hours with Samsung support they couldn’t figure it out. After taking off that top part sure enough the wire on the right door was broken in two. Spliced the wire sbd it fixed it. Saved me buying a new fridge. It’s an older fridge so I figured it would be cost effective to pay for a repair.

I'm not sure if it will actually hurt anything, but I just tracked down the little speaker and unplugged it. Problem solved. Technician told me it needed a new wiring harness.

Thanks, you really helped me. The binging sound on my new Samsung RF18 was driving me nuts. I put my phone on video record and sure enough, my fridge lights were staying on. I took off the top cap as you showed. Everything looked fine, but I wiggled some wires and the binging stopped. Another test with my phone video showed that the fridge lights are now shutting off. It's kind of concerning that this is happening with a one-day old fridge.

Honestly, I had this problem because the factory installers screwed up the connections on the refrigerator... so I had to fix it myself. That may be part of the reason.

Totally random but wanted to add the comment for anyone else that might experience this, was having the same issue with constant ringing of the door open alarm - turns out a small magnet from the side of the fridge had gotten up top somehow and must have been pulling the sensor forward even with the doors closed fully - removing the magnet from the area immediatley fixed this issue.

I have a Samsung RF266AEPN unit mfg. in 2011. It also is a chimming nightmare but in the ice maker area. I can't turn off the ice maker also. It is driving us crazy. Is there any way that a person could just disable the chimming? I'm also experiencing water in the area below the produce trays that we have to soak up at least once a day or it will overflow to the floor. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

All the switches are working properly is there working properly I'm told that old dad there are common issues with these middle freezer drawers and I wanted to see if you had any input on what I may be able to check next episode if it's a board or something like that I've already replaced the ice maker of the water bowl but maybe complaint is that plan is not getting icer water Which obviously is because the door switches are reading that the doors are open Please help if you can as soon as possible possible thank you again

I just want to deactivate the alarm. Like break it without breaking the rest of the refrigerator so it never goes off again. Idc what else is going on with it. We had an issue with the kitchen fuse and now ever since then the alarm will not stop so I think that's the only thing that caused it even though the fuse is fixed now. Cqn turn it off for maybe 15 min but it starts again. My room is right next to the fridge. Hear it all night long. Driving me insane.

Hi ben same issue is with my refrigerator. I made a vedio and at the refrigerator side even at close door light is still on. And refrigerator is continously beeping with error. But its cooling have some issue too. Its not making ice at freezer side and freezer side is cold like a refrigerator and refrigerator side is not as such cooling. My brother-in-law donated his Samsung to my wife's parents but he cut all the cables that go from the fridge body into the left door in order to remove the door and get it into the house. Let’s first determine what kind of door switch it is plunger style on older models and a magnetic proximity sensor on newer models my turned out to be a missing magnet on the top of door for the proximity switch it was located on the top exterior of the door I personally would check this first if your magnet is missing get a thin powerful magnet to replace the factory supplied ones try both sides of the magnet hope it helps it fixed my new lg unit

My Samsung refrigerator started chiming like crazy 2 and 1/2 years ago. I cleaned off the coils, made sure there was nothing in the seals and that the air wasn't blocked inside. Still kept doing it. I ordered the three temperature sensors, replaced them and it seemed to work. Now 2 years later It started doing the same thing again intermittently, the refrigerator portion keeps chiming and I noticed when it does this the temp in the frig display goes up and down. Do I have to replace this stupid sensor again? I really don't want to have to keep throwing money at this stupid thing to get it to shut up! But I love the fridge. I just hate the stupid incessant intermittent chiming! Samsung should be ashamed of themselves for creating such a poor design to frustrate their customer base! My sister even threw her Samsung frig away and bought a different brand.

My ice panel keeps beeping. The ice selections keep switching from crushed to cube to off. I tried to put the child lock hoping it would lock the ice type and the beeping would stop. Samsung No frost bottom freezer owner here living overseas I open the refrigerator door and it started beeping when I closed the door I looked at the control panel the numbers were gone but the little lock was flashing apparently the child lock was activated pretty weird because I didn't even touch the panel at all all I did was open and close the door I looked at the manual it says hold the lock icon down 528 seconds to turn off the child lock I held the button down for more than 30 seconds but it didn't do anything it just kept beeping and flashing and getting on my nerves so what I decided to do was unplug the refrigerator I let it sit for about 6 minutes and then I plugged it back in when I plugged it back in the control panel was showing the numbers again and the stupid child lock thing was gone I may call them about this because it's weird that the child lock turned on by itself I don't have the refrigerator next to the wall so nothing bumped it the only thing I did notice right when this happened is that my solar panels were going out for the night because I don't have an off-grid system I'm on grid. But even though the inverter was shutting off it should not cause the child lock to activate. I mean it happens every evening when the Sun goes down the inverter shuts off but usually I don't have the fridge door open right when that happens anyway I still feel like it shouldn't cause it to deactivate or activate the child lock so try the unplug trick if you can't get the panel to respond make sure to leave it off for at least 5 minutes and it's best not to unplug it when the compressor is running good luck everybody and greetingsn from Istanbul

Need help. I have a similar fridge, samsung twin plus (rf28hmedbsr/as) that is displaying a code 5C or SC.. All fans turn on butcompressor won't . I can't find a video that helps me get out of that screen. I see many others videos with different touch buttons. I want to start cheap by changing the defrost sensor but don't know how to clear that code.

Could it be a 5E code? That would indicate a faulty control board. Otherwise, I haven't found a 5C or SC code, only 5E or SE codes, which would potentially require a interface reset which would be press and hold the upper-left and middle-left codes (OFF/Demo code, usually) and cycle that twice, or run diagnostics via the interface (look @ my Samsung Refrigerator troubleshooting video in my playlists, as there's a video showing how to do a few diag codes)

@@mtxxtm1438 I had to completely remove display circuit board to see corrosion. On mine it was around the power freeze button where connectors are soldered to board. I had very fine sandpaper handy, so I very lightly removed corrosion being careful not to damage any trace. If I had to do it again, I would start with something milder like alcohol, but I thought I would need to replace board. Refrigerator is 15 years old and I have not had beeping or other issues since removing corrosion.
