There was also the later 709 which looked identical to this version except had fake woodgrain on the front cover. @theshedproductions has one.

Yes, other than the innards being different electronically, they retained the same base and sensor design. Of course the 709 has that deeliscious woodgrain patter rather than the popcorn ceiling texture

Yes Simplex rebranded this model and redesigned it, for use in their system models but they did not have a horn. They also used incandescent lamps for the sensor beam however.

ESL did still use that design too for ITI panels, however there was one with a horn@@BAFVintage

how long did those lamps last? photoelectric became much more practical for the masses with low power, long life infrared led i imagine. @@BAFVintage

i suspect photo electrics would be less sensitive to that spray than ion.
