This is the most common fault with any Bentley Continental GTC.
The sensor is on the frame rails on the driver side. This sensor is easily removed with one screw. The cover clicks on. Inside are two gears. One gear has a small embossed dot on a gear tooth. One gear has a small embossed dot in between two teeth. These two gears often skip a tooth. You can remove, realign, reinstall, close the top (manually if necessary, see my other video on reseting rollover bars/ manual top operation), turn the car off, start the car. If this was the only fault, top should work as normal.
To prevent this from repeating, after installing the sensor, wrap fabric tape, or electrical tape if you want to be lazy, around the sensor and rail, ensuring it is tight enough to keep the case pressed against the gears. Do not let it build up too thick as to come into contact with other rails.
If you want to replace the sensor, part number is 3W7959613B
