I'm removing the one on my 540i soon, I asked a BMW tech and he said not to worry about clutch life,removing it should actually increase clutch life because take offs are smoother, it was installed so you can't pop your clutch quickly and blow it than BMW woulda had to change it under warranty, but 420G getrag transmission is very strong, the M5 doesn't even have one.

Get the valve from Zeckhausen, a US-based company...just Google the name. They send the part worldwide, no probs. Well worth doing!

afaik the modified cdv is not necessary.... (at least not on a bmw z4) The flexible hose coupling fits just as well on the steel pipe coupling, so you don't have to get a modified valve.

I'm removing this asap, before my BMW I have driven only Honda's and Acura's with normal clutches I loved how they felt but soon as I got a BMW I noticed something is very different here i became very annoyed with the way I could never get used to it when coming from a dead stop like if I at a light or stop sign whatever, starting to take off from being still it was so weird like I couldn't launch smooth like I could with other cars without a CDV, I am planing on removing it soon.

is it kool to just drill the existing Clutch Delays oriface out to a large size instead of buying a new part?

Some BMW aftermarket parts store drills them out & sells them online for $20 (price isa couple years old, but that's a "yes").

+theeroom no - the juddering is caused by a ridden out/worn out Dual Mass Flywheel (when there is lateral play in it you'll get the juddering)

Air in the system makes it feel mushy. Always flush.

I belive it's not necessery to replace the CDV with modified one! Why not just trow it away and connect the fluid wire directly to the clutch slave cylinder? Its flexible enough! Someone made a good buiseness...and people blindly belivie in it

It was relevant when still under warranty. If they saw that the CDV was missing they would void your warranty if you went in for any tranny problems.

To prevent you dumping the clutch. Also, helps burn the hell out of your clutch and drastically reduce clutch life.
