Hi mate i am about to tackle that exact job! Was it possible to remove and then fit new shifter module from inside the car? Also any tips or hints would be great as im a very novice diy car fixer!😊👍

As for the side pins, and the two screws that should not be removed, in my case the T-40 screws are actually a cam action hardware (similar to Akia furniture hardware) Now I need to disassemble the shifter module to find the broken 😮piece. Thanks very much ,,good to see how it's done.. One little tip ,the cam locking Torx bolt only needs to be turned about 180 degrees,,,it clamps the metal pin into place and pulls the centre console toward the upper section.

Great video! So helpful. Any chance you could show how to disassemble full dashboard in order to get to ventilation system? (I have a C-Class-W203-that mice got into over the winter. They entered through air intake). Going to replace carpet but also want to check/clean vents and inspect behind dash for any damage. Thank you for the great videos.

Great video. I killed my cigarette lighter and need to replace it and watching these video's helped me a lot. I have one question. I was able to remove the wood top and remove the cup holder, and press the tabs to get the cigarette lighter to full forward, but how can I pull it out. Its attached to a bottom panel under the cup holder and I tried to pull it up and out but could not. How can I get to the Cigarette lighter so I can replace it? Thanks for the great video.

I did the removal as you suggested. But now the shifter can move even with the key not in ignition. Is that a solonoid problem? Is it the round cable that goes from the back of the shifter to the back of the ignition?

I have the same car, but with a manual, its a C230. My center console arm rest is broken, I purchased a replacement one from my dealer. Could you show me how to replace the arm rest? Do I have to take the entire center console out to do it, like in this video?
