Ice Wine's delay is terrible for aspects with delivery mechanisms (Hera and Beowulf) but really nice for straight casting, I learned that the hard way a long time ago. It's a nice damage bump and the chill is awesome, but it's not worth it if you miss because it took an extra half second to actually activate. But it you're casting normally it removes the long lob wait you would normally have which makes it much easier to hit with.

I always have a tough time actually making delay casts work with beowulf, seems like it hits the ground where the enemy was a lot more often than it actually hits the enemy. Plus the AoE is misleading,as sometimes it doesn't hit enemies that are clearly inside the AoE because they weren't hit by Dragon Rush. I find that hitting the enemy as they're attacking you seems to be the most consistent

Yup, I was so annoyed when I realized trippy shot worked that way with infernal soul. It caused me to fail my run. My thought was to just take pom keepsake from the very start of the run because pretty much any cast would do.

i just did a basic version of this build, and trippy flare is pretty crazy. btw, blizzard shot also chunks bosses really fast, horrible for clearing but i had a run with it where i chunked theseus and bull boy in 3 sec

If you put Dionysus on your attack you can trigger Blackout on the followup hits. It's a lot better than Artemis for the attack boon imo. If you have Ice Wine you can also proc Privileged Status on the first hit, but you break bosses phases in one full cast without it so it's actually bad imo. You can also go with Hades keepsake for even more ridiculous damage.. You can kill Hades 3rd phase in one attack, with Calisthenics on.

Stygian soul with this build is actually great with at least +1 cast, since your recharge timer is faster than waiting to pick up your festive fog. I was dealing 1600 damage per cast by the time I got to Hades since I used the hermes keepsake to find hermes legendary.

charged shot always.. i get it before the other one..if i can.. having that hammer combo is the best for beowulf by far.. for some reason I seem to get charged shot a LOT with that shield, I think it might have increased chances or something with beowulf in particular i almost always seem to get it. it's so good. not absolutely necessary but it really turns the build into something crazy good.

The best Ice Wine build is with Artemis and Poseidon for Mirage Shot and Fully Loaded.

made a beowulf build with trippy flare heroic pommed to 13. had PP and epic deadly strike and clean kill. two chaos boons that gave 70% and 67% cast damage. 3 standard bloodstones and I hit 7402 damage on a single hit on EM4 hades. I clapped daddies asscheeks so hard.

I feel like you can try to make it heat 20 for all those build showcases. It's basically just Extreme Measure 4, 7 mins, 2 armour perks + 1 mini boss perk. Should be easy for all weapons and showcase the build's viability more. PS: I think most cast builds are op later on if you get the right Duo. Be it blade rift/ Crystal Beam/ Poseidon shot, Athena Phalanx, etc etc. This build def works with Poseidon sword too. PS2: Poseidon shot doesn't need any duo to be op as heck. In fact Duo makes it worse lolz.

mmk just making sure.. I've been playing beowulf a bit lately and trippy flare is by far the best with it..without question. the other ones don't even come close. Stygian is really only good mainly for getting Bad News.. it's not totally necessary.. but I tend to use a lot of rolls on getting that first cast if i'm not lucky the first couple tiems. tho.. at the same time it's not really hard at all to get the artemis legendary that gives u 2 extra casts.. 2 casts is enough.. but 3.. that makes it really efficient so that there's never really any downtime. I often go for the artemis legendary here myself...just cuz the more casts the better tbqh.. cuz you can like.. stack them right. I once had 6 casts each one doing 1.2-1.6k dmg each.. and just unloaded them on hades all at once.. that's usually what i do for the hades fight anyways just unload them all at once. I just got done with a game where I had a lvl 15 epic Trippy Flare(475 base damage), Bad News, Black Out(hangover on main attack), 68% cast dmg from chaos a braid of atlas for another 50% cast dmg.. it was around 2.5k dmg per shot. I only had 2 casts, but yeah i'd do like 5k dmg in one shot vs hades with both casts at once.. hades fights with beowulf always tend to go that way tho lol. it's kind of meh tho cuz Trippy Shot really is the only decent cast for Beowulf.. The rest scale horribly in comparison. Trippy Flare gets such high dmg with pom levels you can't get elsewhere.. no reason not to use it on Beowulf.. btw it's not totally impossible with only 1 cast.. I've done just fine with only 1 cast. I'm still not sure how Black Out works. I imagine it's all damage is increased to hangover afflicted foes inside the fog..but I'm not totally sure.. it sure seems like my dmg goes up tho.. even with the first shot, cuz like, I thought the first shot wasn't going to be getting the dmg bonus, but it feels like it does.. Im not sure t.t

It's basically a grenade that deals a single instance of AoE damage, then it keeps applying mini-stuns to enemies who stand in it. There are several boons that add extra effects.

The cast will regenerate before the fog wears off (thus when the stones would allow you to pick them up) so as long as you get at least +1 cast along the way, it should be a little better.

you talked about loading the cast when ur in the middle of a bull rush, and yeah, it seems to bug it out or something, cuz you do the cast dmg, and ur next bull rush will have the increased aoe/dmg but without the cast lol. im wondering if it gives the cast dmg bonus you get from the shield itself tho when u do it like that.

the demeter/dio duo is incredibly underwhelming imo.. i mean, trippy shot/flare is already supposed to stun.. i feel like trying to get it just isn't worth it.. the dmg boost isn't significant enough imo.. it's better to go for black out imo... i've gotten close to getting both but i never have.. idk if it's even possible.. i never would have skipped hermes for demeter tho bad news way too important to me. i mean the demeter duo is really cool. i got it a lot my first few runs with beowulf too

and why aphrodite?? all the other casts scale so horribly.. a common Trippy Flare does more dmg than an epic Passion Flare.. Beowulf was literally made for Trippy. And the only cast that does something different with it is Ares.. and it's like.. really bad.. at least in my experience. Like.. what I'm saying about "scaling" is that their dmg tops off.. poms would only be giving like 5-10 dmg at most beyond lvl 3-5 or so depending. whereas Trippy Flare poms are literally always going to be giving relevant damage. It'd be different if the poms for everything were relevant lvl 5+ like they are for trippy flare, but they just arent..
