I won a Bergara Comp. barreled 6GT action last August at the WPR Finale here in Billings, MT. I set it into an MDT Premier Gen2 with a Triggertech Diamond SS, 20MOA rail, and a Leupold Mark5 HD with a Tremor3 reticle. Just bought (200) Alpha brass and will be using Berger 105’s with Vihtavuori N140

I got an HMR carbon fiber wrapped barrel in 308. Never could get consistent groups from it (1 1/2" @ 100yds was the norm). Installed a 26" Kreiger barrel and now I am stacking bullets.

If I had to wager a guess, they were simplifying their workload to manufacturing stock systems knowing that there are tons of barreling and custom barrel services with very good track records and very good results. I bought one of their 22" barreled actions in -06 on brownels a few years back........ Them selling their barreled actions isnt new. I had a friend buy a 6.5 cm at the same time and put it on a seekins chassis. We called it the bergarabrovo Maybe their offering more options now??????... or maybe its factory direct ????? Kool video i think the bergara are better than the christensen available on brownels currently.

There is a comment regarding pre-fit barrels. My question is barrel blanks in carbon fiber for builders. I’ve got wait times on barrels of 6-8 months and my last came at 11 months. Another cb barrel maker, if Bergara is making their own, would be another race horse in pasture. I also like their concept on heat deflection between the metal and carbon wrap. They are selling actions and barreled actions but not barrels, there are other builders (production) doing the same thing so my thought is they are out sourcing the barrels.

They’ve been offering barreled actions in many different options through brownels for a while. I got a 6mm CM about 4 years ago and it was garbage. I put a custom barrel on it and it shot great!

Glad they have this offering. However any savage axis action and NSS criterion barrel with a decent stock will do this. Aero precision action will do the same for this price. Pick your poison. However the remage barrel is king on this type of build.

I don't get it, either. Everyone is absolutely obsessed with shorter barrels right now. I guess people are more concerned with how their gun looks while wearing a silencer than they are with the terminal performance of what they're shooting.

@goinhot9133 I only have one 30 cal can, but i use it on everything but my 5.56 AR. I totally agree that silencers should be used when possible. I just don't mind putting them on standard length barrels is all. A buddy of mine bought a 16" AR-10 in .308 so he could run a can and the rifle still be short, but he regrets it and is trying to sell it now because he can't get enough velocity, lol.

Great idea but if you are going to offer of-the-shelf products like this, at least have the options to match. 26" barreled actions for a 6.5 PRC but only 24" for 7 PRC? Is Seekins the only ones with a clue here?

I live in Germany after retiring. I bought a Contour #7 barreled action in 6.5 CM, put it in a Bergara BMP Chassis, had to do a little filling on the inside of the chassis for the night vision mount. Barrel is thick there. No regrets shooting F-Class, with or without suppression no impact change. Worth the money!

Why not choose your action and then caliber, barrel length, and barrel profile. A bunch of drop down menus. Then your customer gets what they want. I’m wanting a 7PRC in a 26” #7 profile. It’s not like they couldn’t make it .

Why would you want a 26" when 7prc was designed for 24" to start? It was literally designed to be optimum in 24" barrels. What is so critical about maybe 50 fps gain if any going to 26"? 26" is a remnant from 7mag design.

The price of the barreled actions is pretty good if they offer a configuration that you want. If you are buying just the action for a custom build, these don’t make any sense. I would rather have the aero or the zermatt just for the fact you can use shouldered prefits

Lovely. I wish 6ARC or really short action for 6ARC or the like was added to their line because 6ARC is arguably looking like a reliable factory load here to stay compared to all other 6mm mini cartridges. And I wish for 6ARC factory loads in 55-65gr to replace 223 like ballistics and a hunter can drop any of the 100gr or greater loads for bigger game, or enjoy high bc 100+ grainers for long range gongs and perhaps more factory loads in low bc 80-100+gr round nose for hardest hitting hunting inside 100yds. And then loads in between like 80-95gr. Or something like that. Quite versatile, convenient, lightweight, low recoil, favourite go to rifle. Yeah I know howa mini has it covered but factory 55 or 65gr loads for 6ARC need to be available too. Then I’ll consider hand loads.

HMR series in 260 Remington with 26in barrel in outlier chassis system. I know from experience and similar set up it will shoot sub moa.

It's a big step up from a 243 win and with the longer neck/throat i can seat my bullets out long and that helps a ton.

Thinking about building a rifle geared towards long range/prs style shooting and maybe competition. My question is 6 GT or 6 creedmoor? Comparing the Hornady match factory loaded option hornady lists on their site(108 for 6cm and 109 for 6gt), the creedmoor has higher velocity by about 100 fps. Plus as of now a lot more other factory loaded options. Why should i build a gt vs the creedmoor?

6gt will have less recoil allowing you to see impact easier

Look up barrel life on a 6 creedmoor. It is terrible. My gunsmith told me that he’s seen them get replaced at 800 rounds, granted the guy was shooting PRS matches consistently at high fps. 6gt has definitely an advantage in terms of that. Probably gonna get around 2500-3000 from a 6gt.From what I hear most people aren’t running crazy speeds on PRS calibers to be able to spot misses. I ultimately went with a 6br and I’m so glad I did.

I guess everyone has different interests, but as for me, I'll always invest in the entire rifle. Too many good ones out there and less need for any tricked out customization, given my hunting and shooting interests. No cost savings by going this route, I'm sure. That's what ARs are for, in my opinion, but to each their own.

It's a shame this isn't offered in traditional hunting cartridges like the 3006, 243 or even the 2506. It seems like everything is about promoting the new target wonder cartridges.. You're leaving out a large percentage of hunters that could be purchasing these rifles, but would much rather have them in traditional hunting cartridges.
