Slopeduro bikes have got many extremes: Matt Jones has his at 120mm travel on 27.5" , whilst Brandon Semenuk has his on a 27.5 / 26 mullet with 190mm travel. And I have seen others running 29". I think yours though Seth is in the middle and is probably about right!

Going by some bike-checks on KZbin I've noticed a lot of the RB Rampage riders are running 26/27,5 mullet with Fox 40s (or similar) up front! I'm fairly sure that's not recommended by the manufacturers but maybe they've supplied their sponsored riders with a custom frame/swing-arm to make it work?

Mine is an End-style bike. DMR Bolt slopestyle frame with 150mm Fox forks, a Rockshox RT3 rear shock, NX Eagle groupset, MT Trail Sport brakes and a crap tonne of Hope aftermarket parts. Flicks like a slopestyle bike but does the distance, flies up hills and blasts down them like an Enduro. Started with an overgrown full-squish BMX and now I have a king-killer genre defining All-Mountain beast.

Seth needs a custom gyro for the slopeduro!!!
@mrupholsteryman2 жыл бұрын
Coming from the 80s bmx and then freestyle ish world... that was one thing that I hated was the front brakes through the necks stem bolt through the fork (in a cable) the front brakes never stopped as well as the race bike I had put front brakes on for trick purposes..ends etc. The ACS rotor was the solution for bar spins and keeping back brake cables from being too long and then having to reverse spin the bars from time to time..but you'd have to move the stem higher to make room for the rotor..and the tension on the device was not centered (as there was one cable on top and one on bottom) The gyro (now the oryg?) Fixes those issues as it goes to the side of the frames headtube and not on top of it and has balanced pulls on both sides! I think the solution for better braking for the guys that want less "arteries" all over the place and less potential of long brake cords that can catch twigs, fingers, other unwanted collateral damages in unwanted collisions with stunts that go bad.... I've thought of doing this myself....and yet haven't done it yet... But I can totally see something like this in a something "different yet kinda the same" that should happen... I may just have to stop procrastinating and do this! May start a new trend in bilateral holes for internal hose routing for cables/hoses in the manufacturing side... Would be a cleaner look overall and maybe the only negative would be more connections to make sure no leaks in... one could make the brake handle side mechanical and the caliper side hydraulic if one so chose.... lots of options.
@mrupholsteryman2 жыл бұрын
Evidently...been done before. I just searched Google... haha! Don't know why it hasn't stuck.🤔
