Uhhh that's a entry level bike dude ( not that there is anything wrong with that ). Mid level bikes are $3000 for a full sus and $1500 for a hardtail
@sebastianjost4 жыл бұрын
@@s14tat not everyone sees it that way. In the lower price segments there are a lot more differences, therefor you would need more categories there. There is a massive difference between 200$, 500$ and 1000$ bikes.
@s14tat4 жыл бұрын
@@sebastianjost there can be many levels of entry level. A $200 bike is almost wouldn't be considered trail rated without failing. So that is literally a bike shaped object. Even though Schwinn has been killing it lately with the aluminum comp, the axium and the boundary because they come with a tapered headtube for only $250. And a truely trail worthy bike that is not going to blow up after a half year of black diamond trails cost $800-$1000 for a hardtail. That is still only considered entry level because you still need to add a dropper seat post etc and needs some upgrading down the road. A $3000 full squish doesn't need any upgrades right away and it becomes the point of diminishing returns from $3000-$5000 which is why I call those mid level bikes. Those $3000 bikes are not going to come with gx eagle or pike or lyrik forks for the most part.

@leetus-deletus4 жыл бұрын
@@markmarlatt1105 1x9 is great but if you use it more for mountain biking I'd recommend 1x10. Seth only had a 1x9 laying around is all. 1.10 isnt much more expensive either
@bananasstuff33444 жыл бұрын
@@leetus-deletus a ha. that's where you are wrong. that's a very nice 1x9 with more range than most 1x10. google 'box prime 9 one'. the range of a 1x12 with the reliability of a 1x9. i'd rather box prime 9 one over any 10 speed. edit: and 1x10 is probably much cheaper than the the box one version.

@@kofiskingley5336 what does a dropped do? I keep hearing about them but I don't even know what it is, anyway I ordered a new seat (cause my butt rly hurts) and new pedals (cause I kept slipping)
@kofiskingley53364 жыл бұрын
@@jeremywp123 yeah the place you bought it from normally puts the cheapest plastic pedals on them. A dropper post allows you to raise and lower the saddle height from a lever on the handlebars (think of an office chair that goes up and down). The point of a dropper is to lower the seat when you need to either lean far back on the bike (going downhill) or move about on the bike. Then at the push of a lever it comes straight back up to the best height for pedalling. As a low saddle is great for having fun, but puts your legs at en inefficient angle for long pedalling. If you're standing up on the bike often, try dropping the seat manually next time you go out and see if a low down saddle is something you benefit from when riding trails

Hey Seth, so I actually have the exact same bike and take it on my local trails. It holds up pretty well with the stock parts, but the drive train is a mess. Any budget friendly upgrades you would have done to this bike otherwise? Unfortunately I do not have your seemingly endless and expensive parts bin... Thanks!
@BermPeakExpress4 жыл бұрын
Spencer Hatfield Changing the front ring to single speed without changing the cranks is way more economical. For the rear, a Box 3 is a great deal, and I’d check out Microshift’s 9 speed offerings. You could get away pretty cheap with a similar result!
