This is why I mostly go for lasso from spider guard or collar sleeve, to keep that shoulder forward and the other one back. Also developed some more tricks while drilling lasso passes. The better your lasso pass, the better your lasso guard and vice versa 🤙

Let it go the grip of the lasso and start opening his elbow to shoot a triangle before he grips your collar

Am I wrong in thinking lasso guard doesn’t work in No Gi, cause of no grips and exposing your foot for a heal hook. I mean it may be situational but when we see it textbook like this just gets me thinking. If IBJJF allows heel hooks it may be dangerous even in gi if opponent breaks your grip.

It does not work as well in no gi. As for heal hooks and leg attacks - I started lasso in a leg attacking school. I tend to go shallow lasso to find if they are going to attack my foot. If they do I defend and use one set of moves. If not I use another.
