I could listen to you guys talk like this for hours. Being on the internet surrounded by comments and opinions from people who sit on their computers and only listen to mp3's all day can make a guy depressed. This is like much needed therapy. These guys actually know what they're talking about. Thanks, Michael.

While I can't really stand jazz, it's wonderful to see this kind of care and effort being put into cutting legendary recordings to vinyl.

Are those Scully Jones record lathes? I bought a Sunbeam Tiger from a guy in Maryland that had one in his living room! He said "I bet you don't know what that is?" I said "Thats a Scully Jones record lathe!". He said I was the first guy to know what it was and asked how I could know that. I told him my father was a journeyman machinist from Ford and used to talk about them all the time, and beside it says "SCULLY" right on the front!!!!!

This is exciting. The more of these kind of projects Chad can get done, the better. I'm buying them all.

This is excellent.. Looking forward to purchasing some of these. So are any going to be 45's or all 33's?.. Hey, MIchael, you need to review that amazing Dean Martin, "Dream with Dean"..

Those mastering platters look really old. Wonder what they could get if they incorporated one of better bearing/turntables that are used on high end domestic systems.

If you want to hear recordings that will knock your socks off, listen to the recordings of Roy DuNann for Contemporary Records in the late 50's. Art Pepper and the Rhythm Section was the first one i heard. I still cant believe the sound. The greatest recordings ever made! Makes the Rudy Van Gelder stuff pale by comparison.

Very true. I did overstate a bit. Just trying to let those that do not know about Contemporary Records aware of its existence. Blue Note and Rudy Van Gelder are so well known, but Roy and Contemporary not so much. I had never heard of them until I got the Art Pepper album and did a little research. By the way, I very much enjoy your insight on these topics Mr. Fremer.
