This woman lied her face off in order to obtain her free education, foodstamps etc. She married her brother to help him come here. When the city officials of Minnesota became suspicious of her goings on before she obtain her current position, they did a lot of background searching and this including Facebook things, she had removed pics with her and her brother when she said she did not know where he was etc. The AG of that state also a Muslim would not do anything to investigate what the Minnesota people said, and it was given to FBI in DC, they waited until the investigation could not be performed, meaning, they would not act on it. And the things she has said, show how very brazen and unproud she is to be an American. Knowing her background in Somalia and what the progressive Left is about shows me she is dangerous. Going to the middle east instead of helping your own people in your districts in Minnesota is ridiculous, she is the same type that wants to put up high Muslim interests and put down Jewish interests. They like the Obamas and Clintons want to restructure the country and give everyone a piece of pie, no matter how they start out, whether one goes to school and obeys the laws, which she certainly didn't and they want to allow anyone to have anything, and many people these days are not interested in pursuing education to make their life better, and those people should not benefit from others. By pushing for more socialized programs which is what both want and what Obama certainly wanted, this pushes out capitalism and makes them feel pleased with themselves, they all us capitalism to get what they want, but they don't want others to have it, because they think larges business have too much. I know is that a bunch of men were in the right place at the right time, and they wrote up paperwork that helped to create a country that could make mistakes but always land on their feet, and that is ended, and people like you take the easy way and actually think she's a treat. She is not a treat, and has nothing to do with her race, she is like Biden and many in DC loathsome.

I have nothing against Ilhan Omar and, if at all, I have a preference of the Democratic party over the Republican one. I do have a question, though, to everyone here: How many times, during the last 30, 40, 50 years, have you heard of a Christian, Jewish or Buddhist person carrying out a suicide bombing attack, against peaceful civilians, with the intention of killing as many of them as possible? Oh, not too many times? Right, so have I. Now, what about a Muslim person: How many times have you heard of a Muslim person carrying out a suicide bombing attack? Right again, so have I. And so, if that's the case, then is it not reasonable to feel fear of Islamists, which what "Islamophobia" really is?

Israel betrays trust of allies and then tries to censor opposition so ignorance supercedes human reasoning. That is anti-democracy. Human beings want peace, not violent "allies" full of excuses. Russian leadership similarily destroys its democratic credibility with actions counter to Russian populace & the entire Earth's condemnation. 2024 Americans and NATO allies should know better, from history.

Precisely. This is how far-right the Overton window is currently set. Bernie and Ilhan represent the majority of Americans with their policy prescriptions and humane worldviews. Still, American right-wing propaganda has (sadly) been extremely successful in framing people like Bernie and Ilhan as left-wing radicals when their policy prescriptions all poll in the majority. I've said this for years now and it will always be true: Sen. Bernie Sanders and his policy sets and progressive perspectives represent the center of our American political body. Sen. As a moderate republican I think it's really great having Ilhan in congress and I applaud her work to help those less fortunate than most of us through her legislative work and community work, and hope we see more Reps like her in the future.

We don't deserve Ilhan Omar, and she doesn't deserve the vicious, unhinged hatred of the Republican Party but I selfishly hope she stays in politics despite all of it because we've never needed people like her more.

It's amazing to hear her story. I helped the Somalies in Washington State in 1997. I know of what she speaks. Several told me horrific stories. The desperation was severe, and the need was great even after they got here. The constant fear of running out of food and or resources was palpable on a daily basis.

Omar's story is very valid. Now imagine no safe country to escape to.
@hawkstrike188 ай бұрын
I don't have to imagine. In reality there's no sane place in this world. And the self-inflicted prophecies (choices) and vicious cycles make sure there won't be. It's sad but it's no longer time to be sad. Thing is, I see most ppl accepting a fate and the only resistance they understand is to be used by some weird figure(s) who exploit their own greed and selfishness, and they definitely are not unlike whatever sheeple they supposedly condemn and criticize. The hypocrisy and stupidity are unbearable and deserve destruction, but the fact that so many see destruction as a solution nowadays, says a lot about both the state of mind ppl are in, and the state of each country (because I assure you, I've gathered that sentiment from any country). It's not just the literal sense, I mean. That'd be the end that so many ppl crave now. Be careful what you wish for, they say, but...
