Amazing people who are of the same mind. I live in the UK and we have just the same issues that you have experienced and lived through. However, we all have had the opportunity to access affordable healthcare in the past but this is beginning to change in the UK. Long waits for surgery, lack of funding to support people with long term healthcare needs. Doctors who are just starting out in their careers already disillusioned with their earnings. The people who support our creaking NHS are the hard working nurses, many of them immigrants, the cleaners, the on the ground office staff and porters and kitchen staff. Sadly this is going downhill. At 75, I recently had a pacemaker fitted after many years with deteriorating health. During the surgery the consultant said, very sarcastically, 'And this all free on the NHS '. I was dumbfounded. My husband and I both came from working class families. We are not graduates, but sacrificed to enable both our children to have the opportunity to go to university and have financial security. Neither of them had an easy journey but both worked hard, as we expected them to and have done well. We are fast mirroring the States' with an influx of thousands of migrants who see the UK as a safe haven. But we are experiencing seeing our resources diminishing. The haves and have-nots still exist as always. The way things are going in the world, exhausting our natural resources, climate change....... I could go on. The world needs more Alexandrias and Bernie, but what do we get? Trump and Putin and the rest of the greedy warmongers who continue to exploit and destroy. 😢😢😢😢😢

Hi from the UK. I wish we had a Bernie Sanders in our political system. Things aren't as bad here because we still have the NHS but the corruption in our current Government is unprecedented. They are the equivalent of your Republicans and to them 'socialism'is a dirty word. Things rapidly deteriorated for both our countries in the Thatcher/Reagan years and the gap between rich and poor has become wider. We now have more people living in poverty, especially children, in both our countries than at any other time since the war. It is shameful when you think we are 2 of the richest countries on the planet. Antonia sounds like a younger version of Bernie...maybe she'll make President one day!! She'd definitely knock spots off any of the Republicans I've seen! Solidarity with all of you democrats💙💙💙 . I'm rooting for Biden

@Winspur19826 ай бұрын
I agree. In a world without Bernie I don't think the US would even exist anymore as even a figment of a democracy. Trump didn't change anyone's mind or inspire anyone, and never will. He merely latched on to longstanding fears like a leech on an open wound. Bernie and AOC et al. changed the minds or hearts of millions. (The discipline of political science, as opposed to anthropology and psychology, has a very hard time understanding this, and mistakes winning the Electoral College once against a former First Lady for evidence of political genius.)

@LV4EVR6 ай бұрын
I'm MAGA, and I listened intently. Yes, I knew who they were, of course. But I'd still disagree just as vehemently either way. The problem is progressive policies don't work. You can see it played/playing out in NYC, San Francisco, Portland, Baltimore, St. Louis, Austin, etc., or in entire countries like Venezuela. (Or Argentine, before a radical conservative was elected due to the utter failing of the progressive/socialist policies and economic collapse there. Side note: His radically-conservative polices and actions have already made a _huge_ improvement in that country.) Specific example: Crime in NYC today is off the charts, despite the mayor claiming otherwise--if you stop arresting people, crime "goes down." It is very similar to how it was immediately before Giuliani was elected. People were _sick_ of it, and chose his conservative Republican tough-on-crime stance. His opponents called him racist (and every other name in the book) for his policies. But ... they _worked._ In a _very_ short period of time, the city became (again) a nice place to live, work and visit. And everybody benefited, _everybody,_ regardless of skin color, politics, gender, age, income level ... _everybody._ And that's the real difference between the two ideologies: Progressive policies sound good, _feel_ good. But history proves they simply don't work. Conversely, conservative policies can, on the surface, seem harsh and uncaring. Except, history proves they _do work._ And because they work, they actually help _all_ people, not just the elected and the elites. Thanks for a civil discourse. Peace, love and blessings.
