@@クリームイカ Why? Nadal and Djokovic absolutely FEASTED on Federer's BH (slice and topspin) and Federer's weakness on that wing was clearly Federer's biggest liability against his toughest rivals. Federer's slice worked against the lumbering, second-tier guys like Roddick, Berdych, Soderling, but against Nadal and Djokovic it was just an invitation for them to unload on a big forehand.

@@dl3988 That was the case most of the time. Sometimes, though, Federer would just go God Mode and absolutely suffocate Nadal and Djokovic, especially with the slice. IMO, Roger still has the best backhand slice in the history of tennis. That may sound contentious but that’s just my opinion. Let’s just say it’s better than the slices of 1hb players today *cough cough* Tsitsipas.

Dimitrov actually played a worse schedule than him in Stockholm (no day off and 4 matches in a row, including an exhausting battle against Griekspoor) and is older than Tommy… he could’ve been a bit injured, or out of it (post title effect) or just doesn’t like playing Nakashima - he’s now lost 4 times to him and never won.
