Berry Crumble - Berry Crisp

Crumbles are one of the easiest dishes you can prepare for either breakfast or even dessert. It takes no more than 10 minutes to have it all ready and placed in the oven. You can use this recipe for any other seasonal fruits, like peaches, nectarines, plums and apples. I highly recommend this easy recipe for Berry Crumble (Berry Crisp) as it is absolutely delightful.

Berry Crumble
Ingredients
Makes about 4-5 servings
Crumble Topping
1 cup (100g) rolled oats
1 cup (125g) flour
1 cup (100g) brown sugar
1/2 tsp (2g) ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp (2g) salt
1/2 cup (50g) walnuts, optional
1/2 cup (110g) butter, melted
Berry Filling
1 1/4 pound (550g) mixed berries
Lemon zest of a lemon
1/4 cup (30g) cornstarch
2 tbsp (30g) sugar
2 tbsp (30ml) Lemon juice

Looks fantastic! From a food science perspective, I’m curious what the difference is between using cold butter and cutting it into a flour-oat mixture versus using melted butter. Your strawberry oat crumble recipe uses cold butter if I recall, and that produces a superb result. Time for me to try this version with melted butter! Thank you for your great presentations.

If you’re on a tight budget, give the dollar tree a try if you have one in your area, they have frozen mixed berries, blueberries, and strawberries at an excellent value. No added ingredients. Don’t think them being frozen will make a difference in this recipe.

You should Never NEVER use oats in crumble. It’s a traditional English dish . Flour sugar butter, that’s all it takes.
