That's the V-Spec variant. The later V-Spec II Nür beat the Evo and STI in the Skyline GT-R: Prodigy episode. But it's hard to trust these videos. They aren't consistent at all. I feel like they're rigged sometimes.

Its a tight slow speed circuit. if it were Suzuka the NSX would have won , here the light awd short wheel base rally car had the upper hand and even then the NSX is 2nd in the time attack

What’s the point of reving a stock WRX to over 8k RPM? Especially with close gear ratio.

They are using the older EJ20's that could rev that high naturally unlike the EJ25's that came later. Plus, the EJ20's are able to stay in boost considering it _IS_ technically a rally car for the street. So, as we all know, rally cars use very close gears when driving on rally stages.

There’s not much power over about 6.5k with the 2.0 sti, power has tapered off a lot by 8k. My version 8 would run 22psi at full boost at a little over 3k but it’d taper down to like 14psi at redline (on a VF36 turbo with mac valve etc) so I used to shift at 6.5k in mine generally, using the midrange and close gearing, like you said.

Yes, stock the R34 is not that impressive. Most japanese cars have good performance potential, but they are not very cool being stock, so I dont understand the collector mindset for the R34 GTR. It was produced in large numbers, is not that great as a stock car, it does not really have any racing pedigree, so why would it become so highly overpriced? Same with the Supra MK4. They are nice tuning platforms but then you loose the collectability when you dont keep it stock, but thats when the cars come to their own. Out of these cars I would rather have the NSX-R, I think it is the most special and probably most pleasant to own and drive, even if it is not the fastest.

Tendrías que cambiar algo, en vez de Fanboys de GTR, lo que más que corresponde es Fanboys de R34, ya que solo conocen el R34 y se atreven a llamarlo Godzilla, cuando Godzilla es el R32... lo único malo que tiene el R34 es ese fanatismo absurdo, pero por otro lado, en su momento fue una evolución... caja de 6 marchas, una computadora que muestra datos y ajustes, un diseño que la verdad esa es la razón de que me gusta más el R34 que el resto, sin faltarles el respeto... lamentablemente soy de aquellos que lo conoció por rapido y furioso, me hubiera gustado haberlo conocido por algún juego de Gran Turismo, yo tenía la PS2

Most of that overrating comes from the dumbass American Skyline fanboys, fanboying over cars that weren't even official sold there by Nissan, plus all the vehicle import laws that the US has makes it very difficult and expensive to get a grey import car to be federally legal if it's less than 25 years old. Silvias are overrated af too IMO, and again most of the fanboying on the internet comes from the US, the market that got the worst from the factory versions of the Silvias.
