We never got the Brembo brakes on the DC5 Type R here in Australia. It was never an option on the EP3 Type R either. But I love the DC5 Type R it's a great car. Best Motoring is better than any other car show ever! Cheers from an Australian fan
This is a good representation of traction management over raw power and "handling" the stock car with softer shocks and all season tires has the edge here in the rain.
Such a shame that Honda messed up the front suspension of this car, and they covered it up with Civic FD2 Type R later which much more superior than DC5.

they didnt "mess it up" it handles very well

They did that to handle torque steer in comparison to the DC2. It also made the car more affordable, which is why is still accessible to the average Joe like you and me. I have one and I love it. ♥️🏁

Whats up with the front suspension design? How does my 1989 90 Hp Civic have more advanced suspension than this Integra Type R. Love the DC5, but this feels a bit disappointing. Am I wrong? Maybe this has only a small effect on the handling in the end, who knows.

I think it has mainly to do with cost as this was the start of the 21st century. Besides, with McPhearson struts what you lose in corner maneuverability, you gain in high speed stability.
