How I never thought about that? Easy and cheap mod but still gives the golf's engine bay a better look, even more when using a red intake and red cables. 10/10

Try dabbing the areas you want to mask off with dish detergent and the plastidip will not stick to those areas. It peels up easily, just run your xacto blade around the areas to free them from the rest of the finished area.

I've had bad luck with that duplicolor spray wrap, after using plastidip I was extremely unhappy with how the duplicolor held up. I painted parts of the same rim with black plastidip and red duplicolor so same exposure to the elements on each. Also even name brand plastidip wouldn't stay on my windshield washer reservoir cap on my last GTI. The heat from the engine made it peel and look bad after just a few months. I've vowed to keep this new mk7 GTI plastidip free, but I wish you the best of luck with the dip on your engine cover. It does look really good!
