Interesting that the Mazda got second despite being the newcomer. If the price is the only sore point compared to the 1st-place Hyundai, I'm willing to pay the price if I'm getting a better car. You can't ignore that inline 6 and rear-drive-based AWD architecture.

what I don't understand is why talk about price, the cx90 turbo S has the same price as the honda elite and the hyundai, they cost the same here in the United States, 53 thousand dollars and with all its equipment, for me the turbo S is perfect since with the other two models that follow the turbo S we lose a passenger and the difference is minimal, so if within the 3 they have the same price I go with the cx-90 that has more power and is more elegant at the level of German vehicles

I don't know what they mean by the price here in the United States, more directly in New York, the CX-90 TURBO S costs the same as the hyundai and the pilot in their highest versions, so if all 3 are at the same price, I'll go 100% with the new cx-90 since I get 340 horsepower and an interior that competes with German SUVs, I have a 2021 pilot and I was thinking of making a change to the 2023 but now I'm buying the cx 90 turbo s

Convenient to omit that the CX90s can run on regular fuel but with a subsequent decrease in HP but still beats the competition.
@OtisSpringerpilot
@OtisSpringerpilot Жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct! And not only CAN the Mazda inline6 turbo S run on premium OR regular, IF you choose regular, there is NO decrease in torque (369 lb-ft on either fuel!) ..there is a a 21hp decrease with regular fuel....which puts it at 319hp, still above every other SUV in this comparison. Still, it was the CX-90 overall price that knocked it to 2nd place, and I agree that the cost of the Mazda will adversely affect its "overall value".

As an owner of a 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring RESERVE (2.5 T, AWD) and all its upscale features I would pay the extra $$ for the CX-90 mild hybrid with premium features. That is because it is really competing with Audi, Mercedes, Acura and Lexus. In fact I feel it would come very close to Lexus reliability due to its excellent build quality.

Judging by the way Mazda is pricing the CX90, the base models competes with the mainstream segment while the top one can go head to head with the more premium brands and in my opinion and experience, the CX90 can easily topple the MDX, thanks to Acura for refusing to build a RWD platform and with that 10s ZF is completely a joke. Test drove a bunch of MDX in 2019 from 6 dealership in GTA area both have the same flaw in the tranny.

Just now saw this... I've had two Mazdas (626s) in my long car career. Each went over 250,000 miles. I like Mazdas... BUT, I keep my cars a looong time...7-8 years +... The CX-90 might work if you only plan to keep it 50K miles or so...but when the timing chain needs to be replaced at 100K miles, bring the bank. Why? Because the genius Mazda engineers put the timing belt at the REAR of that in-line 6. You will have to REMOVE the whole damn engine to get at it... and what will THAT cost in man hours? See the review by the "Car Care Nut". Naw... for me, it's the Honda Pilot hands down. I can live with a little less fuel mileage for the reliability and longevity of that V6 and 10 sp transmission. Now... if Honda could just upgrade the Infotainment display for 2025... I'll break out my checkbook. (See Honda Pilot Review by "Savage Geese", "Car Care Nut" or "Alex on Autos")

This is not the goal of the Mazda CX90. They made that car to compete with Acura and Lexus among others. Ofcourse the Mazda will be more the the Hyundai, but when you compare The CX90 to an Acura, you are getting more bang for your buck with mazda. It’s cheaper and offers near the same. Thanks for the review. Im struggling to choose between the CX90, The Palisade and The Highlander just now. The Highlander has an 8 month - 1 year wait (Im in Mexico) Mazda are quoting 4-7 Months for a CX90 and Hyundai only have one waiting on the palisade and so available 2-3 months locally. This review has helped me round it down to the Palisade and CX 90. If a garage in Mexico City can get me the CX 90 in 2-3 months Im likely to go with that. If not, the Palisade. Than comes the price where CX90 can be bought for just over 40Kusd and that is a steal!!! Well equipped and sooo much better built and finished than others here . Last point , this CX90 can easily be cross shopped in low 40K generic price range destroying cheaper competition and high end trims where is can be a real option to X5 or X7 with ton of cash saved ...

Better off buying the Pilot used and the cx9 for a smaller package that is great. The cx90 has been a hit but with the new engine repairs will be expensive since they moved the timing chain to the rear of engine requiring many repairs to require engine lift, not good. What’s with the stupid 3 row seat obsession. There are 3.13 people in the average family in the USA. The average family size has declined from 3.8 in 1940 to 3.1 by 2021. Yet car reviewers/manufacturers insist on having a 3rd row in crossover; and calling it a “family holler" (BTW - the real meaning of crossover is - glorified minivan). How many families actually have 7-8 people in them? Whose family are they driving around? Not to mention that most of the 3rd row seats are completely uncomfortable, difficult to get to and kill your cargo capacity. Plus they add weight to the vehicle. I’ve seen reviews of vehicles like the Honda Passport, where reviewers are complaining about not having a 3rd row seat. I see that as a benefit!!! Look if you need 7-8 seaters, buy a minivan, trust me these 3 row crossovers aren’t any cooler! At least a minivan is comfortable for all passengers; including your exceptional 5 child family…lol

I haul extras cargo where extra few cubic feet of space would be useful once a year , and I drive everyday so argument that because there is little more space in one vehicle over the other is valid once a year the way vehicle drives is valid every time I get in 365 days a year. It is much easier to build large vehicle but much harder to make it surefooted and driving great not to mention to look at and really enjoy at the cost that CX90 sells for ...

Yall can imagine the labor when the time comes for anything mechanical. Other than expensive maintenance, it's a good car.

The Mazda has a tiny console, and cup holders are very small along with being in a compromised location. It's a vehicle for sporty adults who occasionally carry small kids. The Hyundai and Kia have a very nice interior but the mechanicals such as engine design easily make this vehicle a no go. Look it up, it's a show stopper for the well-informed. For me, the Honda is the best. But.... since I don't need the space I like the loaded RDX. It's amazing.
