Does the Mazda have a heads-up display? Does the Mazda have heated third row seats?? Does the Mazda have USB ports on the third row??? Does the Mazda have cooled second row seats???? If the Mazda doesn't have all of those then the Palisade wins with its quirks and features.

When you have kids and take a lot of road trips, the space matters. I've 2 MDXs over the last 10 years and it's for sure a nice vehicle but we always felt cramped in it. The pallisade feels huge, and the space makes everyone more comfortable. We absolutely love it.

I used to be in the camp of "wtf no android auto touch available in motion?" However, after a couple months of using the rotary dial for all my inputs in my 2017 Mazda 3, it's my preferred input method. No ugly, greasy fingerprints all over the screen, and I've got my muscle memory established to the point where I rarely look at the screen, even for firing up navigation for saved destinations. I don't think I've touched the screen once in over a year, even if the car's parked.

Yeah the controls for the infotainment in Mazda has been and always will be superior to touch in 9/10 scenarios. The only time a touchscreen is superior is if you're parked, or if a passenger is changing something. But when driving it's useless and much more distracting.

6nice try bud. the bottom line for you is that you had to rationalize and go through the learning curve, to retrain yourself to accept that you don't have a choice and are forced to using the dial.... fact is the dial is just as distracting as the touch screen. you can slice and dice this argument all day, but it all boils down to you having to glance at the screen no matter which system you have.

I'm a Mazda SUV owner and disagree with this. Mazda is not all that desirable and they're going to get stomped on by Lexus / Acura and likely even Genesis. $63k for a Mazda SUV is going to be a tough proposition for many. As an entusiast, there's no way I would ever trade my CX-5 for the CX-90, even though I could afford to do so. $50k-ish is a sweet spot and above this, I'm going with lux name plates. Pretty sure most would follow suit. More than anything, the wonky hybrid powertrain is a deal breaker, fuel efficiency be damned..

Hearing from an engineer familiar with the Mazda transmission, it’s a conventional transmission with an internal clutch pack serving as the “wet clutch”. He claims this possibly limits the ability to launch from a standstill, and also makes it incredibly complex to modulate as it’s acting as a torque converter at a standstill, needing to prevent rollback but also engage on demand. Hopefully it was engineered for reliability…

Saw a lot of people here trying to decide between the telluride, Highlander and the CX-90. It’s simple, if interior space is your priority, CX-90 would lose every time, as it was never designed to be a minivan alternative. But if you care about design, craftsmanship, driving dynamics, and how all of them come together as a whole, it would literally be an insult to even compare the CX-90 to the highlander, telluride, or even the MDX. Nobody in their right mind, given they know at least a little bit about cars, would compare a RWD inline-6 turbo setup to a bunch of FWD turbo 4 and V6 cars and ask which is better - they are not even in the same league. Can’t believe we are still having this conversation…

For me, the sweet spot in the CX-90 line up is going to be the 280 HP engine in the Premium Plus trim level. It’s down a little bit on horsepower than the high output 6 and is missing a couple of little luxury features like the power steering wheel or rear ventilated seats, but it does check off all the other boxes … panoroof, front ventilated seats, and bonus, it seats three (kids) in the third row, so it has slightly more seating capacity. For nearly $10,000 less than its high output counterpart, it will retain the awesome handling.

Mazda owner here...similar with Yuri with the CX-5 and it's not bad...but noticing squeaks and rattles now, but the biggest letdown is the infotainment. The dealership experience was not great either (just switched Mazda dealerships). I think the CX-90 is decent looking (except for the headlights which are not wide enough) and nice interior. But at $63k, would rather fork over more and go for a Lexus / Acura or Genesis. Both great cars, but at $53k range, I would probably go Palisade / Telluride

I rented a cx5 in 2022 while I was waited for my Mazda 3 to come in from Japan. As to infotainment the new one is light years ahead of the old. It’s very enjoyable. As to the squeaks and such, Mazda pretty much fixed this after 3 years of the car being out for the 3. So there might be some growing pain for the new cars too. That or they’ve fixed whatever issues were going around brand wide

I think all these reviews are sleeping on the lower trim CX-90s. Mazda always has really good value options, and the trim levels always feel very fairly equipped. The inline six really helps with the premium feeling, not sure it really matters if it has more HP or not. 280hp in base trim is more than adequate. Whatever the first trim that unlocks the bigger rims is probably the sweet spot.

Transverse engine and automatic transaxels have a well known history to be garbage especially the later ones used in kias/hyundais having so many issues. Components have to be far more compact to fit under the front hood compared to a conventional longitudinal engine and transmission layout that they can make alot larger and stronger.
@loooopeytunes
@loooopeytunes Жыл бұрын
@@TheRandomActivity Wrong. Longitudinal engine and transmission needs to be compact than a transverse engine because it takes a lot of space in the hood (you need longer hood length), longer wheelbase, and a hump in the cabin to accomodate a driveshaft, which reduce cabin capacity. And all of that makes the chassis heavier than a fwd. Meanwhile, transverse fwd engine takes less space because the engine and transmission is only located in the front and provide more space in the cabin. Honda and toyota have been making fwd cars for a long time and it's known for their reliability. I don't want to talk about bmw, merc, and other euro cars about reliability lol
