I bought the MSI 274UPF in Feb 2024. It started showing white flickering lines across the screen after 6 months. I RMA'd it and MSI payed for the shipping back to them to fix it. They then told me that they didn't have parts for the 274UPF or they were discontinued. So they sent me the MSI 323UPF as a replacement. And the 323 is been really good so far, hope it lasts longer than 6 months.

2:48 small correction, though important enough to point out. The O in OLED stands for Organic, which means OLED pixels degrade/decay with use. Burn-in refers to when pixels degrade unequally in a pattern so you notice the difference between common and uncommonly used pixels. Modern monitors mitigate this phenomenon by having screen savers that don't "save" your screen but rather make sure every pixel is degraded at the same rate. So yes you will not encounter "burn-in", because whatever damage is done to the least healthy pixel is applied to every other pixel. OLED as it is currently will just get worse over time as you use it. That is the major drawback of getting OLED technology; your monitor decays while being the more expensive option.
@E_A_G_O2 ай бұрын
Wow, that is something I don’t know… How long would you say it takes for the pixels to decay
@superchet40262 ай бұрын
@@E_A_G_O That's like asking you how long you'll live, it really depends on a lot of things. But they're degrading/deteriorating from the moment you start using them. Noticeable wear in most OLED TVs after ~5 years.
@GanymedeXDАй бұрын
@@superchet4026Of course there are clear figures what impact pixel decay will have on functionality and picture. That there will be a noticeable wear after 5 years is nonsense. It takes far longer to have a noticeable wear! I am a mega-heavy user and there is no wear at all on my oled TV despite older.

Even my friend who bought a ROG strix va monitor sold it after a month because the store wouldn't accept an exchange for a different monitor even if he said he'll accept a cheaper IPS monitor. He said he kept it for that long since he said he might get used to the shadowing but ended up being more annoyed by it overtime.

IMO you need to consider PPI when buying a PC monitor. I have a 42" C3 and love it. It has ~105 PPI which is fine if you sit a good armlength (~80cm) away from your monitor. I wouldn't go below 100 PPI on a desk monitor. On the other hand I believe, most people will not see a difference above 150 PPI on a desk monitor. This is also called pixel per degree. If i remember correctly it should be above 60.

I don't understand why more people don't connect their PCs to 120Hz TVs. Noticing 120Hz vs 240Hz is so situational whereas having a display that is 2-3x in area is completely insane. It does require more space and sitting further away, but those things also free up your seating options to reduce neck/eye strain. Plus the TV space is EXTREMELY competitive so during Black Friday you can find insane deals with great warranties. So if I'm understanding this correctly you have a g9 1440p 240hz 49" and you want to change that for 3 screens that are 42 - 55 inches each. The issue is that screens that size don't typically have displayport as they are TVs, and your 4090 likely only has 1 or 2 HDMI 2.1 ports if you are going 4K OLED which is what I'd recommend. There used to be a lot of 1st gen OLED gaming monitors that were 48" 120hz, like the FO48U, but they've largely gone off the market. Maybe the 57" 4K G9 OLED?

I had a rock solid ASUS 27" TN panel (1920x1200) for so long, it just refused to die and when it finally did, I was in the dilema of having to replace my daughters entire PC (and monitor) at the same time, because she was old enough to start enjoying a wider variety of games and her current PC just wasn't up to newer titles. That was all gonna cost me close to a grand! We also needed a new TV - my old one was an ex-display model and had started to turn blue in the corners and was out of warranty. So I decided to kill two birds with one stone and bought a 42" OLED LG TV to game on. Luckily, my "desk" is an original 1960's architects desk, it's huge, and with the TV right at the back it's perfectly fine to play games sitting at the desk (once you get used to it) and the quality was amazing. Everything from gaming to browsing the web to reading documents etc. I couldn't go back to a monitor now. Although I do still use a 23" LG IPS panel whenever I'm sketching and need to pull up references etc.

I jus want the best picture graphics I'm a casual player but want a good monitor. Ones I been looking at was gigabyte m32u or m32UC the LG 32" gr93u, ASus xg32uq. Would it be ok to use a 4K monitor to play games in 1440p? I have the choice beetwen an LG 32GP850-B and the Gigabyte M28U. Both cost almost the same (i use a rx 7800 xt). I dont know if i would lose on quality if a would choose to play 1440p on a 4K monitor, if i should just stick to the 1440p option. Some games are harder to play in 4K on my GPU, but other would work fine. Would i loose on quality if i'd play 1440p on the M28U?
@kelley091622 ай бұрын
Yes you would lose quality. It won't look as good on a 4K as it would on 1440p. Considering your GPU a 1440p Monitor would be a good choice. Do you need help picking out a 1440p Monitor or are you all set?
@PCBuilderChannel2 ай бұрын
It will work but I recommend buying for the resolution you plan to play at the most to avoid quality issues. For a 7800XT I'd go 1440p personally. See our Best 1440p Gaming Monitor 2024 video! Theres some really good sales right now

Do you have any thoughts on the super budget 4K 60hz monitors? There are some like the koorui 27 inch monitor for $175, Inoccin 27 mini LED which is $299 but I think I’ve seen them as low as $199 with a coupon, and spectre 27 inch for $185. @MrAnimescrazy budget is roughly 2.5k - 3k, and hopefully i can also find a monitor and have it all be less than 3k, but I'll hold off on the monitor if it's too much. As for what the build will be like, I'm hoping to be able to have 4k 60 fps game and/or 1440p 120 fps gaming, as well as good performance for editing and streaming. Most likely an nvidia gcard for rtx but if it comes down to it, will choose an amd alternative. (Sorry, wrote a bit much there)

@MrAnimescrazy i guess I do need some help. Ive roughly got a decent idea of certain parts, but others, I'm not so sure. Like I know I want an nvidia card with at least 16 gigs of vram (prob a 4070 ti super or 4080), an amd cpu (everyone and their mother says ryzen 7 7800x3d, but i understand why), ddr5 ram of 2x8 or 2x16, and a storage space of 2 or 4 terabytes. I'm a bit confused what type of storage type I need, but what I'm truly lost on is choosing my cpu cooler, psu, and soomewhat the motherboard
