What kind of socks do you recommend? It's hard to find 100% cotton socks nowadays. Most socks are made from polyester and Lyca and other polyurethane materials that don't allow your feet to breathe properly.

My son plays sports and had this. The ACV really works! He began exfoliating his feet with store bought sea salt every night while in shower,, then once he got out of shower he would soak his feet with 2 cups of ACV to i gallon water for 30 minutes. Each morning he put Vicks vapor rub on his feet, before he put his socks and shoes on. He sprayed his shoes with some type of over the counter fungal foot spray and washed his shoes once a week. He did this faithfully for a month. He continues to put Vicks on his feet every day because he likes the way it feels. This was 2 years ago and the fungus has never returned.

I suffered from my early teens to my mid 30's. One day I was speaking to my mom about it cause she had the same issues. She told me she got rid of it years ago. Son , you use one shoe all week long right ? Yes and so ? Buy 2 or 3 pairs and rotate that way the fungus dies in the shoe. That was 20 plus years ago and I own over 20 pairs of boots . Never had a problem again.

Yes! I switch between usually 2 - 3 prs of shoes a week and after each use I spray them with Lysol. That helps a lot too! Always wash my socks daily. I have an issue right now and am using the epsom salts, but I will try the ACV.

I went to the doctor and told him that I've had athlete's feet for decades and can't get rid of it. He just shrugged and asked if I was using over the counter stuff. I said yes. He shrugged again. That's my doctor experience. So it looks like I could be getting better advice from youtube videos than from my actual doctor. How sad is that. That was a VA doctor.

My doctor was the same, I have had for over a decade and tried several times to get rid of it, I am however succeeding this time by changing my socks several times a day, I use tough actin tinactin morning and night, and at night I do not wear socks, I have been doing this for month now but because it was so bad I am still having to keep on it, I have less of the need to itch ( can go for days without feeling the need) and my feet are slowly healing.

isn't the prescription like 30mins worth of daily treatment, for a month or more? soak, barrier cream, sock changes multiple times a day dentists can't get people to brush for 2 mins 3 times a day patients are really good at popping a pill but how many people will commit to 30mins/daily for minor skin irritation that happens once in awhile

Doctors don't learn anything about diet, nutrition, gut or parasites. Athletes foot is a symptom of a candida infection, they thrive on sugar and carbs, so you would need to detox and cleanse to resolve the problem permanently.

have found that if you buy a box of baking soda and apply it or soak your feet in water almost until they prune up, then place the baking soda in a pan and rub your feet in it, it will go away in hours. in order to have athletes foot, you have to have acid, acid creates the environment for fungus.... the baking soda neutralizes the acid instantly and the fungus goes away fast.

I had athletes foot since 1988. Sometimes it was bad, like bleeding after I peeled off stinky dead skin between my toes and crusty cracking skin all over the bottoms of my feet. Two months ago (Feb 2024) I started a new regime where every morning before I put my socks on I sit down and spray my feet and between my toes with a generic athletes foot spray. EVERY.... DAY. Childhood was the last time I remember my feet looking so good. I am so happy! And though it appears to be gone I still spray my feet. Every morning.

What’s the spray my guy
@CX0909
@CX0909 5 ай бұрын
@@brandonfisher3115 honestly I think any brand or treatment will work. It's about consistency over time. My local grocery chain sells the brand name products, like Tinactin, and their own store branded copy, which is probably still Tinactin bought from the manufacturer and the stores own label put on and sold at a discount compared to the brand name. Kroger is my local store and they sell Kroger athletes foot spray. It's the exact same stuff as in the big brand names, just less expensive. I'd say after the first week of spraying every morning I started to see an improvement. A few times I even sprayed at night just before bed as well. Honestly that might be even better than in the morning as your feet get a full night of fungus killing without being in your shoes where fungus is waiting to soak your feet again. This is just my opinion but if you used a liquid spray every morning and every night and maybe a powder spray in your shoes every night I think you could kill it fast. You should hit both sources. And remember, once it looks like it's gone, it may still be there. So I'd recommend doing it for at least a couple months. Or whenever it seems to be coming back. Oh and one other thing. Once a week, usually on Sunday, I spray Lysol power foamer bathroom cleaner in a mist on my shower floor. I like it because I can just spray it and walk away. No scrubbing. The next time I take a shower everything gets rinsed down the drain. Athletes foot loves to grow in showers. Clean your feet, clean your shoes, clean your shower floor.

It’s important to treat the environment of the feet as much as the feet them selves. If someone has foot fungus, chances are they may have a colony also in their shoes that they should treat in conjunction with the feet. Cleaning commonly barefoot-walked areas is also important, such as, showers, bathroom mats, and any areas where you walk barefoot. Frequent changing of bath towels is also imperative. Sometimes socks can hold colonies that are stubborn to get rid of just from normal laundering, so purchasing of new socks is also important.

I'd also suggest taking care of your environment. I've learned that If you don't take care of your environment properly it comes back with the vengeance as soon as you start seeing progress and calm down a bit with daily treatments. Fungus are trying to grow mushrooms like growth in my feet. Some fungus have mutated and can get into us humans then into the feet. If it gets into the gut, it can cause waste to drain into the foot. I had athlete's foot. This is caused by high blood sugars and is indicative of Type 2 Diabetes. I cut out sugar and ultra-processed carbs 2 years ago, and my athlete's foot has all but gone away. Sugar feeds fungi. Cut out their food source and they die. I also used vinegar topically to kill the infected skin during that time. And my Type 2 Diabetes went away.

Thank you for this! I think that alcohol and hydrogen peroxide could probably be used by pouring them into the shoe, that you want to sterilize, and then wearing them. This will allow us to soak our shoes and feet. Also, we can soak our feet in a pair Crocs or Croc-like shoes. This will give things a chance to evaporate. I look forward to trying Vick's, because I love the smell.

If it's on the toenails is the fungus in the bloodstream?
@bme6949
@bme6949 Жыл бұрын
I used the hydrogen peroxide method, but I’ve also used my own method and it works immediately, hot water as hot as you can stand it, and pour Clorox bleach into the water, the bacteria literally starts floating to the top of the water immediately, the top will become so cloudy from the dead bacteria that you won’t be able to see your feet anymore, soak for about 5 minutes, no longer than that is needed because it will burn your feet. But this kills the infection and odor.

I have a number of questions. 1. How do I wash my feet and toenails, what utensil do I use and how do I store that utensil? At one point, I was using a clp brush and I ended up spreading the fungus to my other toenails. Do I need 1 brush for each toenail? Should I store the brush in vinegar or hydrogen peroxide or some diluted bleach? Most recently, I was using a sponge to exfoliate and clean my feet. I was using one sponge for each foot, but I ended up spreading the fungus to my hands, so I stopped cleaning my feet entirely. Perhaps, if I wore gloves and stored the sponges in an anti-fungal solution, then I would have saved my hands, however, wouldn't the fungus spread locally if I used a sponge, or anything that would spread the spores / contaminated skin? I have thought about using a rag to dry my feet and to change the rag after each shower. I currently use a towel that's on the floor to dry my feet. 2. For trimming, how do I know when I've reached the matrix? I have a dremel tool and I previously used it to sand down my infected nail. I would do this under water, to prevent sending nail dust into the air. I wore gloves and eye glasses as a preventative measure. 3. Importing terbinafine hydrochloride. Currently, Walgreens is selling the 0.5 oz 1% creams for $8. That is way too much money. I found a Chinese company that sells the 99% powder for 1/5th the price. I figure that I can follow directions to properly dilute it down to 1% and mix it into my own lotion. Do I need a license or anything to import and store 99% terbinafine hydrochloride from China or India? Additionally, I found that Novartis, the company that sells Lamisil, sells the 1% lotion that they sell in the U.S., in India, for $1.12. I have seen generic brands selling for 62 cents a bottle, though, who knows if the lotion is any good or what their quality control is. 4. Disinfecting the house. I need to clean everything since it's now on my hands. Ideally, I would like to use something that I can spray everything with and just leave the house for 30 minutes with the windows opened and then come back and wipe it up with a towel. Any suggestions?

My opinion is to use vinegar. Simple white vinegar you buy in 1L jugs from the store. I use 1part vinegar, 1 part water that I fill in a bucket and let my feet soak in there. Wait 30min. Pat my feet dry with a paper towel or just air dry them with a hair blower. I use a 1 part water 1 part vinegar spray on my shoes, insoles, trimming devices, bathroom floors etc. Sometimes I just use vinegar by itself. Vinegar has anti fungal, anti bacterial properties so it's great either way. Once you let the vinegar soak into your skin, your skin will shred in a few days so all of those dead layers of skin and fungus will come off in the shower if you rub thoroughly with a plastic scrub. I'm currently doing a 2 vinegar to 1 water ratio tub right now but it's worked before, it'll work again. The issue is my shoes just need to be replaced. I also store all of those trimming devices, scrubs, tools that's been in contact with fungus in a vinegar, water solution and let it rest there until a day later to be rinsed with hot water and dried under the sun.
