Man I’ve been waiting for the Govee Smart Lights but these came out sooner. Might give em a try Edit: I ended up getting this and its Awesome! There is one critique though. This device doesn't support auto switching so the only way to change inputs is through the Fancy Leds app or via TV remote if your tv recognizes the seperate inputs. Thats one big miss IMO since there no Google Home Automation support either for scenes or hdmi switching. Otherwise, this is great for those that don't mind that inconvenience.

Trying to figure out if these are evenly good as the philips hue 4k. Could you tell us if the light strip provided is as good as the gradient lightstrip from hue? In the videos i saw so far the light strips of hue look more calmer overall, is there any difference according to you? Is hue better if you ignore the price? Philips hue is in a slightly different league, bigger ecosystem and the vibe from the lighting is actually stunning the transitions when you play the colour scense have a real wow factor. I've money was no issue go for Philips Hue but if you were on a budget as this is the best alternative at this moment in time.

Hue Sync was the biggest waste of money ever. Won't stay paired and support was horrible. You can only contact by messaging through social media. The janky work around solution did not come from their support but my own extensive research and troubleshooting. Problem still persists. Ready to throw it in a lake. Good luck with that 8k box. I like the Phillips Hue lights but the Hue Sync experience has been awful.

Might have to pick one of these up because recently my Lytmi Fantasy 3 mysteriously broke and stopped working, then I got a replacement from Lytmi themselves of their neo pro box and instantly a day after hooking it back up it had the exact same issue as the one before. @@sunnypatel1606 switch is not 2.1 and i dont know if you really need 2.1 For the Apple TV. Maybe you can buy a hdmi 2.0 switch and plug it in there. Then you have only one hdmi from the switch to the sync Box and the consoles seperately.

@@GeekStreet I'm considering two options for my 65-inch Sony OLED TV. I can get a used Philips 2.0 lighting system on eBay for around £330, or a new FancyLED 2.1 system for £255. Given that my TV has a maximum 60Hz output, HDMI 2.1 isn’t a requirement if I’m mistaken, so both systems should work fine. The Philips system can connect to my Apple Home, which is a plus if I decide to add more Philips Hue lights in the future. However, FancyLED also offers other synced lighting options, so this isn’t a deal breaker. Which system would you recommend, and which do you think offers better lighting performance and effects? Would love to hear your opinion or any or what any of the viewers think too!

@FraserReese depends on what you're after, if you where just going to use on a TV and not expand the light then Fancyleds is perfect with hdmi 2.1 but if you wanted a large lighting ecosystem then go for Philips Hue

Had a terrible experience with the previous model of Hue Sync causing Bridge and Sync to lose connection and require a full factory reset of the bridge. So each time I had to also go and pair all my Phillips Hue lights from each room. Hue Sync used to require 2 apps but now only requires the main Phillips Hue app. But going from 2 apps to 1 did not fix the problem with Hue Sync constantly losing connection and having to factory reset and pair all the Phillips Hue ecosystem as well. Horrible support that is only offered by messaging through social media channels.

I'd say get the hdmi 2.1 box as it comes with the RGBW led for better colour representation and if you upgrade to a TV with HDMI 2.1 and get one of the current gen console then at least you know it'll work with it and support the higher bandwidth.

I've been saying to govee and lytmi that when creating these boxes they should add an os like Amazon fire TV , apple TV , android TV , Google TV etc. This has me interested. My current TV is 50". I've used govee with the camera and that was awful. I used the lytmi fantasy 2 on my 50" TV but I had to be creative with the led strips. I've used cheap sync boxes which were worse than awful. What I like about this is the neon strip that syncs with the sync box. At this moment I'm using a Philips ambilight TV. What I missed while using the lytmi system compared to the Philips ambilight is the way in dark scenes the ambilight doesn't just go black / off. The idea of this is to reduce eyestrain while lighting up behind the TV in a dark room. I prefer having a very low white light shining behind the TV on dark parts of a scene.

Phillips Hue doesn't offer any special Neon as opposed to what you would get from RGBW. What makes it looks so good is the diffused light on the light strip. Essentially there is a layer of rubber that blurs the gaps between each LED so it appears as a single solid light instead of separate bubbles of light. You can technically diffuse the light on an LED strips yourself by adding strips out of thin sheet of styrofoam and adding layers with adhevise until reach the desired balance of diffused light vs. brightness. Each layer of foam will decrease the max amount of brightest that shines through. This manual method of diffusing light I am suggesting would still be much cheaper than buying the Phillips Hue system.
