Hey everyone! Really appreciating all the comments about your experiences with Panasonic TVs. Reminds me I’m not the only one who has enjoyed a history with them. Question for you all: Do you like this style of unboxing? More casual, with a narrative that breaks away from the actual TV setup for a bit for a deeper story? Either way, would you let me know in the comments here? Thanks as always for helping shape the channel!

Funny thing is the industry lied about plasma having issues with longevity,most of my friends LCDs or OLED(LED or micro LEDs) don’t seem to be lasting as long. Seem to be though he plasma maker countered saying the panels would last 60,000-100,000 hours. I still have 3 last gen(9.5) pioneers, also had the top of the line Samsung and Panasonic. All of them are still going strong except the Samsung as I don’t think the power supply was robust enough to last decades. I will try OLED eventually but no rush, but every time I bought a top of the line TV with LCD(LED/mini LED) technology, the depth, viewing angles, motion were very disappointing.

My last TV before I purchased a LG C9 was a Panasonic edge-lit IPS panel, which was a few years before they exited the US market, and when Sony was going through their existential crisis. For the time, it was a phenomenal TV. I have a friend who is looking for their first TV in over 10 years, and we are cross-shopping the Bravia 7 and the Panasonic W95A because of their processing because both brands still hold that reputation as being among the best. Looking forward to the review and comparison. Thanks!

Panasonic assigned the budget tv lineup to the Turkish Vestel a few yrs back, resulting in some truly unreliable e-waste sharing parts and os with JVC and Hittachi among other brands. So when I replaced my 2009 42" plasma Panasonic TV with a Led 49" one, I got in a world of hurt, from random restarts to color inversion and remote unresponsiveness. 2 yrs later I gave it up for parts and bought a 55" TCL which is now 3 yrs old with 0 issues. So the news that Panasonic is back into making solid products really excited me. BTW my brother is still using my plasma to this day with no problems at all.

Thats what I'm thinking as well. The OS will kill this TV, Google TV/Android TV already has as much ads as anyone would tolerate. @14:22 I have bought Panasonic TV's in the past for their picture quality and always hated their operating system in comparison to others like Samsung and LG, Sony typically had pretty bad os's too but again great picture quality. Panasonic was particularly limited in fixed apps but this current TV menu system is so incredibly Dull and dismal. Come on Panasonic, you need to bring some colour and cheeriness to your OS. I feel like giving up and finding a tv OS that brings joy...😰😭 the image sound better be darn good.
@AwhispersechoАй бұрын
I might be in the minority but in my opinion, making these Fire TV's is a major handicap. I imagine most normal folks don't pay attention to which OS a TV is running but if I was currently in the market for a TV, the fact that this is a Fire TV would make me cross this off my list of TV's I'm considering. (If I didn't plan on using a Shield, ATV, etc) regardless of how happy I am to see them back.

I suspect Fire TV will hurt this TV's sales, as well, but I do prefer Fire TV to Google TV. I've been really pleased with the W95A so far.

@@kubev You prefer a lesser more crippled more ad riddled version of the same thing? Interesting.
@kubev28 күн бұрын
@@l0rdpelvis I've said my piece about Fire TV throughout these comments. If you're incapable of understanding that Fire TV and Google TV can both be built on Android while functioning considerably different (and likely haven't tried Fire TV in ages and have an outdated view of it), then I'm not sure what to tell you.
@l0rdpelvis28 күн бұрын
@@kubev whatever makes you feel better about your bad choices in life, but you're clearly in the minority. I've had my fair share of fire sticks, the cube, and the pendant. There's Google tv customizations where you can have custom launchers to show 0 ads. Can't do that with Faux android.

So it's a Panasonic fire tv? How much storage does it have? It'll turn itself off after about 5 minutes and there's nothing you can do about it. That's my biggest gripe with fire tv's. I have one fire tv in a bedroom and firesticks on my other tv's. A tv with a fire tv architecture is not a good thing, imo. I'm not against fire sticks and all, but not as a platform for what would be considered a serious tv, imo. I should clarify that if you leave the TV idle with no program or anything on such as just on the home screen or pausing a show, fire tv goes to sleep and then shuts down and you have to restart it. It's by far the biggest PIA and insane for them not to give a settings choice for behavior when paused or idle.
@kubev29 күн бұрын
I have this TV, and I'm currently using 3.67 GB of an available 9.56 GB. You can also use external USB storage, though I don't personally know the limitations on that. Regarding the sleep function, yeah, I'll sometimes wake up and find that the TV has gone to sleep because whatever I'm streaming has finished, but I usually just have to press a button the the remote to wake it up. The TV doesn't seem to need to fully turn back on, and it only takes a moment for me. Granted, I couldn't say how long it's been off, so maybe I'm waking up right away as the TV turns off without realizing it.
@dfizzbom29 күн бұрын
@@kubev thanks for that info. Ten gigs should be enough but it could also be a limitation over the long haul. Adding additional USB and moving apps to it can be hit and miss depending on the apps. I think 10 gigs is actually cutting it close for streamers. But the bigger pain is the TV going to sleep / off when idle. That can't be changed in settings. I will never buy another tv built on the fire tv architecture for that reason alone. It's mystifying why they force the TV to do that with no ability to change it in settings.
@kubev29 күн бұрын
@@dfizzbom That's understandable. Power settings you can't adjust or disable can ruin a product under the right set of circumstances. Sound bars are probably the biggest offender for me in that sense.

I have a Panasonic TV since April 2017 that refuses to die, even in far than ideal environment of dust, high temperature and umidity of a coastal city. The image quality is very good for an LCD VA panel and the sound is actually decent for TV speakers.
