After years of knife collecting i only carry my Manix 2 in s110v nowadays. I love it. Perfect bladeshape, no bladeplay and and a solid lockup, perfect ergos for me, super super strong allover. For me its the best allround edc folder ever. Cheers 👊

How you liking your Manix LW? You like it better than your PM2? I love my camo S45 PM2 but I’ve been eyeballing that BladeHQ exclusive Manix LW in M4 for a couple weeks now. Wondering how it compares to the PM2..

Thanks for this video, great comparison. Being a lefty and switching the clip really helps pm2 lock manipulation. The clip gives your fingers a place to grip while you close. Also theres a left handed version of the pm2 which is awesome if youre a south paw.
@edc4fun6 ай бұрын
You’re welcome. Having that clip gives a lot more grip than we realize. Thanks for watching.

My first Spyderco was the Manix 2 and it is still my preference, the blade on the pm2 looks weird to me because I’m used to the para 3, looks like it’s stretched out too long lol. The Manix 2 is a great knife, as a lefty I love the properly ambi lock, thinner stock and although mine started out stiff the action smoothed out to an incredible degree. I think the ergos on the Manix are better too. My heavily modded Manix has a Wharncliffe reblade in cpm magnacut, titanium cage and clip and AWT scales ❤

Great video brotha! I own multiple of both and wouldn't if I didn't love both. I personally give the slight edge to the Manix as I feel that it contours to my hand a little better and I love the ball bearing lock. Knife Joy is dropping a exclusive tomorrow in lime green with 20cv. I'm thinking I may grab two with one to make my new main edc and the other to pimp out a little so to speak 😉

I like spydercos 20cv a lot. And Manix gets the edge for me too. Thanks!!

Love my PM2. Added Cerberus Ultem scales and it is amazing. Looking at getting a Manix 2, Smock, or Amalgam next
@edc4fun Жыл бұрын
I love Cerberus stuff. I still want to get some micarta worker scales for the para3. Of course I highly recommend the Manix. The smock is phenomenal as well. I wish I would’ve grabbed an amalgam before the prices went up. I’ll probably still pick one up at some point. Thanks for stopping by

Im leaning towards the pm2 just for ease of cleaning purposes. The conpression lock may not be as strong but its less moving parts and its all open, making it seem less prone to problems when used in wet, muddy or sandy conditions

Great point

The compression lock is stronger than you think
@edc4fun9 ай бұрын
@@woofman4796 The compression lock is very strong. And the ball cage lock is stronger. In a lock strength test blade hq did we saw the compression lock hold 108 lbs Vs 220 for the ball cage.

@@edc4funThe compression lock holding over 100 pounds is far more than adequate for my cardboard slaying on trash day, but it sounds super weak compared to the Tri-ad locks on my Cold Steels. But I don’t think I really need my lock to hold 700 pounds to break down boxes. Lol

I'm looking into getting a cruwear pm2... should I be concerned about it not being "stainless"? And is there a real benefit of cruwear over s45vn?
@edc4fun Жыл бұрын
In my experience it’s not a concern. Just don’t get your knife wet without wiping it off. And a little frog lube or something like that goes a long way. I like s45 a lot too, but Cruwear is really impressive. Check out my 1 year review on it: Spyderco PM2 Cruwear Micarta kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6rSo62wh9pkeqc

@edc4fun I have watched it. I like your videos. Very informative 👍🏻. Would wd-40 be safe as a lube? And I don't ever plan to get it wet, other that sweaty in my pocket.
@edc4fun Жыл бұрын
@@evans3390 that’s awesome brother, thank you! WD40 would work too. I just wouldn’t go long periods of time (months or more) without cleaning and oiling.

A pm2 with a ball bearing lock would be a perfect knife. As a lefty, spyderco never really dropped the pm2 left handed with enough options (not even a dlc blade). I own a RH PM2 that i bought about 10 years ago, when they were reasonably priced, but never really used it compared to my cheaper knives. Now that im looking to actually use a more expensive edc, im comparing the manix 2 and the pm2. Im not a fan of the finger choils or added weight in the g10 manix, but the axis lock is a huge selling point for me. Hopefully they make an axis lock variant one day.
@edc4fun16 күн бұрын
You might also want to check out the PM2 Ultra from Blades We Love. They added a button to the compression lock like on the smock, but it’s a PM2

The manix comes with a plastic ball cage, it needs to be metal, I have the PM2 and the tenacious , my next spyderco is going to be the shaman
@edc4fun9 ай бұрын
Agreed. An easy fix though. You’ve got some good ones!

@shedc4fun I am not willing to pay the money for a knife and then modify it, it should come with a metal ball cage, shame on spyderco

@woofman4796Ай бұрын
@kh4174 I have seen tons of positive reviews, and you can love it all you want, I don't ever fault anyone for what they like, it's a really cool looking knife, I just don't like the plastic ball cage and I am not going to pay that price for it and then change it to a aluminum cage, my wife got me the shaman, all black, plain edge for Christmas 2023,
