Here is my 2 cents. All of these do a sufficent enough job at protecting you against malware and phishing attacks. The more premium the service the more robust and making your computer useless. I currently use bit defender and it takes 40 percent of my ram and I have 32 gigs. Avast you pretty much have to shut everything down if you want to do a scan. The fact of the matter is all that extra bs actually doesn't make your computer more safe just that the hackers want the easy money the suckers that click on all of their emails. The one's that download stuff constantly. I say malwarebytes like earliest version combined with r-kill before you start your scan is toast for most of these scammers because rkill will terminate all processes.

I use Windows Defender with UI... PIA VPN and monthly I scan with MRT... For a second opinion, Emsisoft Emergency Kit... For a normal user it is more than enough to be a good idea. You don't need to spend money on Norton's, ESET's, etc, etc... Oh! User common sense is key to safety.

I do like EEK, and once in awhile I will run a bootable Kaspersky

Ill stick with Kaspersky(Standard) even though I am in the United States, just have to connect my VPN to another Country to update the Virus Definitions. Had Bitdefender prior, but some of the NAG screens got on my nerves

You still need round 6. Which is: one time purchase, rather than yearly rent like a house.! Also if there a free edition, and finally, if this app compatible with Windows server version

Is there any AV that offers one-time payment option?
@LastMomentMan15 күн бұрын
@@TheCyberLab I left the network responsibility since a while, and I was a customer for Norton. The purchase was one time only, but after a while, I noticed that they moved to the rental policy, which get money from the customer for ever.!

I think it would be wrong to completely exclude programs from the rating just because of their performance.

We use Norton at our MSP along with Thirdlane Multi Tenant VoIP PBX for secure communications.

How does Kaspersky score?
@wildbill449612 күн бұрын
maybe he was only evaluating what's available in the US, which wouldn't have included the Russian malware
@DalmationProductions5 күн бұрын
Kaspersky is no longer available in the US so it won't be in the list anymore

Don't by the utilities, they will demand more cash on every click, Norton is crap.
