Was just earlier in the week having a look at the basic Bitdefender Antivirus edition, from the perspective of a regular Kaspersky user. The interface felt cleaner and everything seemed to run smoothly. I would feel confident recommending Bitdefender as an alternative to others, while sticking to Kaspersky myself for wanting more granularity in the settings. And for that Bitdefender was throwing false positives on a number of uncommon software tools I had lying around. Not something that should be a bother at all for most users.

If we made false positive test between Bitdefender and Kaspersky, I'm sure Kaspersky would be the winner. Because as you said, Kaspersky is more likely to allow executions and to search behavioural patterns rather than Bitdefender blocks suspicious or malicious signatures ,it's more likely to block them instead of relying on behavioural search.. This may allow false positives more for Bitdefender side.... Hello, I am a w7 32-bit user and I have been using Bitdefender free for several days. Too much memory consumption for me, it does not have a simple option to deactivate it from the taskbar, and browsing both the internet and my folders was tedious, very heavy. Now I'm trying kaspersky free. So far I am satisfied, it does not take unnecessary resources from my PC and it seems smarter when it comes to protecting. It allows me to browse without slowing down the PC. Easy to deactivate. It's what it should be.
@СерхиоБускетс-ф7яАй бұрын
On the contrary, I'm thinking of switching to bitdefender now. Because I'm tired of Kaspersky's glitches. Kaspersky is a good defender if you use everything without your own settings. But if you try to do something not according to the standard, then God, it lives its own life and besides, it has lost its automatic rules for programs and now I cannot use the Internet. I manually marked all my programs as fully trusted for Internet access. Moreover, reinstalling the antivirus did not change anything; it continues to store its settings anyway. This antivirus, damn it, lives a separate life. I am also annoyed by potential surveillance from the FSB, for foreigners this is not a problem, but for me, CIA surveillance would be better.

Both Kaspersky and Bitdefender have strong anti-malware capabilities, but their methods are slightly different. Kaspersky provides a System Watcher component that monitors system activity and uses various databases and algorithms to detect and block suspicious activity, effectively protecting against zero-day threats and ransomware. What about the free version?

Just as good as the paid, in testing, but comes with fewer 'features.' Many of those are in fact not necessary and do nothing to help with system security. Check the AV Comparatives tests and see for yourself.

@@ZenAndPsychedelicHealingCenterI wouldn't count Firewall not necessary

I'll always stick with Kaspersky. They're 1 of the best antivirus software. No doubt Bitdefender is great, but I still rate Kaspersky the best. They never miss anything, so you're completely safe

Very interesting. Do you have the opportunity to test SentinelOne again? It's been 4 years since the last test. I would be interested to know how SentinelOne behaves against 2k viruses.

Shouldn't anti-virus actually stop further intrusion when bombarded with attack ? Why even detect it in this case ?

Thanks for the video. I was just trying to figure out if I should get the Kaspersky premium since my license was coming to an end and was hoping that maybe there would be other security software that it was better but it looks like kaspersky still has it so I went ahead and renewed my license

It would be interesting to see some antivirus comparison for android phones. Some of my experience tells me that in that case Bitdefender is a better option than Kaspersky.

it is, Bitdefender has full real time protection both during install and in downloads

Looking for a replacement for the recently banned Kaspersky. The UltraAV handoff by Kaspersky was a disaster on my machine so I uninstalled it and everything is working fine again.
