I never liked the sweet beaver . Couldn’t see it , even tho my buddy caught some fish on them years ago. Then this year I started searching for something to fish with no action for our heavily pressured lakes around here. Been Texas rigging the sweet beaver to good success. Then started Texas rigging the kinky beaver with good success. I’ve just gotten a little more confidence in the kinky, so I’ve been fishing it more . But when the bites tough , back to the sweet beaver . Been thinking about using them as jig trailers. Thank you sir for your unselfish tips. They make me think. Oh, and by the way thanks for giving away the no action (sweet beaver ) thing ! Just kidding! Thanks for what you do . I’m going to try the BFE . You should have 10 million followers. I just stumbled upon you the other day and subscribed. Thanks again !!! 🙏🥰

My brain is on fire , Thanks Todd I really enjoy your videos. I throw a few different “Bugs” type flipping creatures and lizards ,,, but I am a huge Tube fan , I never really thought of action much as in perspective of performance , I just use a tube for less motion rage tails because they have more , never really had the mind set of less action on my trailer might have the effect of changing colors ! I would go to another type trailer or tube . Usually I like the action I see with a rage tail or swim jig type tail and just like the better feel of good bait and action I could see, Surprised to hear less action is more productive but based on tube results , I believe thanks again for the great info I really enjoy your videos very easy informative not the usual have to watch 50% of the video about someone’s epiphany of why they are making a video or there dogs adventure there possible big foot sighting ........ thanks SO much

Hallman is spot on. I flip a lot, probably more than I should. It’s something that I feel like I’m as good at as anyone on Rayburn. I love the Rage Bug and Rage Craw but not for flipping. They’re jig trailers and sight fishing baits. The beaver style baits are my go to 90% of the time when I’m flipping a plastic and it doesn’t matter if it’s grass or wood. The other 10% is made up of nitch baits. The subtle movements and glides get bit more almost 100% of the time.

Interesting comments and video. Personally, there’s a ton of info in there yet some factors left out I think could influence the decision of what I flip on certain days. As soon as the bfe came out I ordered the only colors in. They are fire especially in hotter more pressured water especially when around other anglers and have different color. However, other times I want more action and slower fall rate. The rage bug and rage craw have been a staple for me forever but have umpteen different brands in the garage and boat. I’ll throw one for couple hours, change weight first then bait second. Conditions, fall rate, and action to me are most important factors; never gonna get same combo over and over. Conditions constantly change

Todd Castledine Fishing after watching this I got to thinking and looked in boat and one speed bag, 90% are rage tail products. I'm the same way 99% of the time. And the senko may have caught a bunch of fish but i've never caught a bunch of fish on one. No matter how i rigged it. I've smoked them on tubes texas rigging em. If i'm flipping though i generally flip with three baits. Paca craw, rage craw/bug, or Zoom speed craw. Paca's claws float, Rage rages and the Zoom just has this nice delicate flutter to it. 9 times out of 10 i can change my trailer and generate bites. Just that subtle little difference in action but still...action. i gots to have it!
@JohnDentonOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
No joke, I’ve always thrown the chigger craw on my jigs, if the water is over 50. Almost exclusively. I tried the rodent on a jig this summer and put the hammer on them. One particular day I was throwing the chigger craw and didn’t like the color, but had a rodent that matched the water better. Went from no bites to 12 over 16 inches. Maybe it was just the color, but I think the subtle action did the trick.

How much does that bait sincerely glide? I’d have to see it in the water with different weights. I catch a lot with the D-Bomb (not much action), and the the rage bug (lots of action), but I love a tube with one glass bead in it when it’s tough....confidence, or ignorance, that’s the question.

How many times have you punched a 1oz+ wt and the bass hit’s it the second it goes through, total reaction. That fish didn’t exam the bait it hit it!

I always hated no action baits like a sweet beaver. I could never make myself fish one for more than a couple casts despite everyone saying they do well on them. Then one day I decided to try a D-Bomb. The first time I ever fished it was on a rainy February 40 degree day. In 2 hours I had 10 bites, put 7 in the boat, and caught my PB, 9 even. The only reason I left lake was to weigh the fish as my scale was saying 5 pounds which I knew was waaaay off. Last January on the same South Louisiana lake, I had the same magic again. Lake to my self, air in the 30's, water temp in the mid 40's. I had 7 bites. 2.5#, 1.5#, white perch, 7# 7oz, and 8# 9oz. Why this never happens for me in a tournament?!
