Just bought one today for Christmas present. Well, my missus bought it for us to take in our new camper float for trail riding, shows, events etc... Float builder wanted $1000 to put a 12v fridge in but I said "Nah, all good. We'll just take an esky or cold bag with ice blocks in it instead. This fit the bill perfectly. $199 from Betta Electrical in Gatton, Queensland. Can also bung it in the ute tray that has a built in 12V outlet. Perfect. Thanks for the review mate.

I bought the non battery version, then I saw the battery version the next week on special at Jaycar. I went and bought it as well. I use it every day and it is fantastic for what I need. While the battery isn’t cheap, it makes a world of difference. And the 3 year warranty is great insurance.

@@budget4x4life I got the 7.8 Ah. It varies depending on the heat of the day but about 5-6 hours. I use mine for work and although my car will keep the fridge running for about 45 mins, I’m often at a clients for an hour and it’s nice knowing everything is staying cool.

Love the idea (and price) of the Brass Monkey range, but on a model like this I've always wondered how you secure it as it only has lift handles and not proper handles. Seems to be the only design flaw.

Yeah true. I keep it behind the rear seat just so it can't slide around too much 🙃

I made a little wooden cradle using the bottom foam packing in the box as a template, covered it in marine carpet and tie down points on it, fridge is very snug fitting and doesn’t move at all, was going to drill 2 holes in the handle as many people have done but Jaycar have stated it is a modification and will void warranty 🤷‍♂️,

Without yanking the battery everytime. Is there a way to not use battery power when you get home? Like timer via the app?

Im sure if you leave battery in and plug the fridge in at home, it will take power from the wall instead 💯

It's not an LG, it's a copy but they still seem to last a long time, my 40L alpicool (company that makes Brass monkey and all the similar looking random branded ones) has been rock solid for the last 5 years and cost me $270 with insulated bag. I have had the 15L with 15.6Ah battery which lasts up to 24H on the battery, or 8H or so when it's a hot day. Very handy in my work car, negates the need for a dual battery system.

You can make them so cold that when you drink it, you get some ice in it 🙂💯

@waynesmith9990 yes mate still my go to for daytrips. Jaycar also said if the compressor has a problem in the warranty period you'll just get a whole new one. So yes definitely worth the money mate 🙂

Hey matey. I haven't actually needed one yet...I just made it cold at home and when I drive i keep it plugged into cigarette socket to remain cold. 🙂 Having a portable battery will be awesome though!
