JFYI for people still looking at this arm for a Blue yeti in ANY other orientation other that straight up like in the vid apparently since the metal adapter thingy does NOT fit the yeti. As you saw Jason struggle because "it seems to be spinning" its because it doesnt fit. If you orientate the mic side ways or even upside down it'll fall right off because the adapter doesnt fit at all.

Thanks for sharing the tip! I always used it up and down, but you might need a stronger boom arm to hold it sideways. Thanks for watching!

Great video, Jason. I had been looking at getting a boom arm for a while and I just purchased one from your link. Keep up with the brilliant content.

Awesome, thank you! I appreciate you using the link. So far the boom arm is working out good for me. Thanks for checking out the video! 😁👍

I dont know if its just down to a few outliers but I've seen multiple people replying that the arm shakes a lot in reviews. The problem is that the male and female connectors don't fit each other; but it looks like yours doesn't seem to be the case. From my personal experience, its basically like throwing a hotdog down a hallway or using an elevator without the guide rail keeping it in place. In the case with the elevator, you'll end up with something that's able to move fast vertically but every time you use it or open the doors, it'll wobble from left to right.

You did mention that Tonor did send this out to you. So that must mean that they made sure to send you a good one.

I love the analogy - throwing a hotdog down the hallways, haha, gave me a good picture in my head. 😜 That's great. I stopped using adjustable boom arms like this one a long time ago in favor of a much stronger setup to boom in a Sennheiser MKE 600. I think boom arms have a place, but if possible I'd go with a better setup. The boom arm I liked the best was the Mackie DB-100. The desk attachment part was much better and overall it felt like a better boom arm. But if you can afford a better setup, that's what I'd do. Thanks for checking out the video!

@@JasonYadlovski I'm glad you liked my analogy! ykno, its sometimes hard to determine if a product is good solely from images online, so your input is very much appreciated! I'll definitely factor it into future setup.

Another solid video. I picked up a different boom arm a few months ago. It works ok, but it left marks on my table. Does the TONOR have some kind of padding or soft surface to protect the table?
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It doesn't have any padding on the base. But it is pretty wide on the top and on the bottom there is a metal disk that tightens to the desk. It didn't leave any marks on my desk and feels pretty sturdy. Thanks for watching!

It’s been a while since the upload and was wondering, how is the t20 working ? Is it still being able to hold up the mic and work fine ?
@JasonYadlovski3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yeah it worked great, no problems. I’ve changed mics and now I use the Sennheiser MKE600 on a boom arm with the Audient EVO4 audio interface. So I don’t use that boom arm any longer.

Thank you for your videos Jason, I recently bought the mic like that but it was less expensive model. I live in Ukraine. But I am getting on another level. Thankful for your Davinchi audio tutorials! Have a great day!

You're very welcome! That's great that you got a new mic and are making some great sounding audio. 😁 I'll have a video out on Thursday showing my audio workflow to help your audio sound more professional. Check it out if you get a chance. 👍

What mic are you recording with if you are putting the yeti on the boom arm?
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Hi! When I'm not using the Blue Yeti, I'm using the Rode Wireless Lav Mic.: geni.us/SqhvW (Amazon) Great little mic, but doesn't beat the sound of the Yeti. Love the Yeti. 🎙😁

Does the adapter has a specific name?
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it has a specific name, it's just one thread size to a smaller thread size. But it comes with the Boom arm. Thanks for watching!

does it work also for apogee 95k mic?
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
I don't know that mic, but looking on their website, it looks like it should work. As long as there are threads on it where you can attach it to a stand it should work. You may need an adapter if the thread size doesn't match.

Does the boom arm work with the blue yeti nano, please respond as you could be saving me £35.00
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Just based on looking at their website (I've never seen the mic in person), it should work I think. Here's what is says in the manual for the Nano: "If you would like to mount your Yeti Nano to a standard microphone studio mount, remove Yeti Nano from the included desk stand, attach the included stand adapter, and thread in a standard threaded mount. For broadcast applications, we recommend Blue’s Compass desktop boom arm. "
