@@jeansanmanmatharajah7784 Dude you are a beast! I just learned the elbow lever today! Should I just master the elbow lever so I can do the 90 degree hold? Because I find it a lot easier to do the tucked version of the 90 degree hold, should i do the tucked version or just stick with the elbow lever, what do you suggest?

@@VlkznR6 That's not a 90 degree hold cheat, that's just a very beginner skill called an elbow lever. The actual 90 degree hold is a sign of some decent strength, the elbow lever is almost just balance. Most guys I know in slightly decent shape can do it. They have bad form but they can do it if I show them how to balance it. The real 90 degree hold is a planche progression and actually builds muscle and strength

Are you doing anything specific to recover? I'm having similar issues
@deerinheadlights9784
@deerinheadlights9784 4 жыл бұрын
Kayden Hansel a bunch of different things tbh. I’m seeing different health professionals. I’m addressing some lower ab pain that may be a sports hernia and seeing a specialist to diagnose and go from there. Similarly in the process of getting imaging for both shoulders (have it on the one) and getting at least two opinions for treatment. First one said surgery isn’t an option for me (right now and hopefully not needed) so seeing a sports medicine doctor/PT that specializes in rehabilitation exercises. I also have some bow legging going on so seeing how to address that and searching for a specialist. Tbh it’s a process and I’ve been going through this the past 13 months. For exercise right now I’m allowed to do a leg workout and core and only PT exercises (pretty light and 1-2 for each body part mostly higher rep) for the rest of my body. They said I’m allowed to do yoga and cardio and live in a cold state so don’t do that much since my gym is my apartment. I need to get my running gate looked at and my main priorities right now are correcting alignment and injuries so I can use my body how I want to long term. I’m 36 and started having issues just 13 months ago and had no issues prior to it. It was triggered by one injury and trickled. Likely there are more things to explain it that I could name potentially. Also going to get checked for bloodwork for rheumatoid factors so we’ll see. I was told by one sports medicine doctor no pushups, hanging from a bar, and definitely no handstands right now. So I do triceps skull crushers (only 5 lbs allowed), chest fly with same weight, db curl (9 lb higher rep and controlled). Even things in a plank position where I stay there for awhile are delicate like 30 seconds of a mountain climber. Hatha yoga is nice because you tend not to hold one spot for that long. A bit of a long answer and hope it gives you an idea what’s going on here. What’s going on for you if you want to share? Good luck. I know a lot of people (including me) don’t realize the privilege we have to use our bodies until we’re hurting and can’t do what we’d like. Safe, slow, and steady healing for you (and anyone reading this). Be kind to yourself most of all because you’re likely already going through something that is hard for you physically, mentally, etc. I know for me what I’m going through now is 100 times harder than any workout I’ve done, no cap. They’re hard work, obviously, but recovering and not being able to do what you want, trying to move in the direction of healing and not injuring worse, and being in pain worried to take care of some normal daily things is a whole different level of hard. Be cautious not to listen to a professional healthcare person because they’re licensed to give advice (blindly). Some of my injury issues cane from me not listening to myself in the rehab process and a bit too trusting of them. Being told to push through pain in some ways (not the burn push through) can make things worse. Or to rehabilitate the same body part every day when it’s a body part that needs to rest can make things worse (what happened to my shoulders).

I attempted the first step, but I can't figure out how to even get my knees off the ground, any tips to help with that, also I can do a 1-minute plank and about 20-25 diamond pushups in a row
