I may go against the tide here. But I feel Adil should stop interrupting so much. Sirish hardly gets to complete a sentence before he's interrupted. This goes on and on and on. After a while I had to stop because most of the time both speak over each other and its not pleasurable to listen to. Compare this to Matt Farah's The Smoking Tire podcast. When somebody speaks, everybody else stays quiet. Just something to think about. Just watch at 18:00. Adil has nothing more to say but still uuuhhhhhhhh

After listening I feel like that in India people and the car companies don't want to spend the money in a new car and the companies are reluctant to invest a lot of money in creating new cars because there is no demand there is a standard set and there changing bits and keeping the same engine just giving a facelift with the new infotainment is not something which use to happen. that feel of market that hype which use to crated by companies are no more and moreover diversified and selected their points and just selling them. Those crazy days for the new cars are no more what big is coming no one excited for that. It's just my opinion I could be wrong too.

Manufacturers are sending tonnes of money in India. Skoda-VW have put in 1.1 billion euros, to give you an example. designing, engineering, testing and manufacturing cars is not at all cheap

The Japanese car makers Toyota and Honda also seem to have given up on India. They are really not doing any thing.

I think Toyota still has something with the Innova & the Fortuner, but they need to come up with more such products. Sadly, the same cannot be said about Honda!

toyota is doing well with the jv with maruti for stable sales because no one will buy an overpriced toyota in the most price centric bracket of 5-20 lakhs where maruti sells good , whereas own toyota product they are launching the hilux pickup truck in the next 2-3 months honda is only reliant on city and amaze and no further plans

Unless the government rationalise taxes most manufacturers will not bring in exciting products. A fortuner earns the government 18 lakhs and only 40,000 for Toyota. Go figure

Interesting podcast. Really enjoyed the discussion. And to answer your question on who's buying the Amaze. It's me 😄. Call me old-school, I just prefer sedans over SUVs. Yes, I wish it had a little more punch on the highways. But apart from that its pretty smooth and relaxing to drive, has more boot space than any hatchback and I like the low seating position as opposed to all the pretend-SUVs out there.

If there is no semiconductor or chips shortages..both TATA & M&M would have out performed in 2021 with top 2 and 3 position overtaking Koreans.. Tata needs to work on their transmission stratergy...and needs to improve after sales and after sales experience..

Want to get into mild off-roading but Thar should not be a huge compromise on-road as well. Near Pune there are multiple Offroad options but have to take road to reach there 😆. Your inputs will really be helpful.

That's on point. Honda seem to be most of the time too late to enter. Their motorcycles in premium segments were similar but they have rejuvenated it, hope they do with their car division.

I drove the alto 800 in Ooty, around the hairpin bends I felt Hyundai Santro managed in second gear but alto 800 required first gear. the old Santro xing is torquer

The Tiago truly is let down by the powertrain, the engine does not have enough power to really pull the weight of the car, it doesn't like to climb revs. The power delivery is snatchy , has flat spots and the vibrations are prominent enough for non car people to ask me if its a diesel. The transmission is a real let down, so hard to shift smoothly. Man my 2007 make WagonR had a better feeling powertrain than the Tiago. TATA is messing up the game by sharing this powertrain in its offerings.

I strongly disagree with the point you guys made about Nissan magnite and Renault kiger, I've driven both extensively but I have to say magnite is absolutely trash in terms of drive meanwhile kiger is comparatively better, in terms of features magnite has an edge but purely driver's point of view, kiger over magnite any time
