Wonderful little meter. 🥳 The clamp on meters are great for VFD AC motor drives and large fork truck battery inverters. Bluetooth is nice for remote testing. Great video.🤩 Thank you. Amazon $45 OWON CM2100B Clamp Meter Digital "Bluetooth" Function Meter AC/DC Current and Voltage Test, with VFC Overload Protection Function True-RMS Test 20,000 Counts My wish list is to use the Bluetooth data in a simple oscilloscope smartphone/laptop app with a true signal trace zero . 🤔 Also, Power Factor function is nice for wind turbine projects .

12:03 I'm sure we've all had times where we had to chuck away included batteries that came with equipment or put them to work in something else do to being DOA or drained before use. Sometimes I'll chuck them into something like a remote, though I do recognize that the things might leak in those. But, hey! If they're good enough to work, there definitely is no reason to straight up trash the things.

Thank you! I have never had a chinese battery leak on me - although they may not last as long. I just think we should not crap on Chinese batteries when the instrument itself is made from China - but some reviewers feel some crazy pride and toss them without draining them first. How do they even know how good they are;)

Nice for the money. Here's my wish list for a clamp on meter. Dual measurements and display for volts and amps and a potential math display for power. And for the app, away to input a resistance value for the load so the power calculations can be displayed based on a volt or current reading only. 🤔

What are the measurement edges for these things? Were I to have a sq 10kamp wave on a 1% duty cycle could it measure that as 100 amps RMS?
@KissAnalog Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. OK - I have to ask you where do you find a 10k Amp square wave with 1% DC? ;) Just asking because if you really know a case - I'd like to hear about it.

@@KissAnaloglul, ya I guess that is pretty extreme. I'm trying to make the biggest pulsed magnetic field possible (shooting for 5T atm) for funzies by using a few loops of heavy machined electrical copper as a custom made coil. It's relatively low voltage (12v) and the h bridge will have a bunch of high current parallel fets. If I need to cool the coil or even supercool it I will. I'll probably have it dunked in liquid nitrogen before I turn the power on full for the first time tbh. Right now I'm just trying to figure out what kinda decoupling(this is the name?) capacitor ill need to catch the flyback from the field collapse. That's a good way to explode my batteries if I mess that up I think. Edit: I already had a coil explode on me last year before I understood flyback. I had a kw through 500 loops and it rapidly started getting too hot so I airgapped the circuit to turn it off. Field collapsed and the coil physically exploded, or at least very rapidly and chaotically came unwound with smoke and fire. It's amusing to look back on but it was less fun when I was trying to deal with a heavy flaming mess of unwounded copper wires in my bedroom lolol.. No more mistakes like that. Anyway my Tesla meter isn't fast enough to give good readings so I'm thinking of just measuring current through the coil

WOW! The non-bluetooth version is less than 35 bucks! It costs less than the UT-210
@KissAnalog Жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out. It is about $10 les for the non bluetooth. Here's the link: amzn.to/3uG7Oz0 Comparing it to the UT-210 is awesome - as they really have the same functions but the UT-210 is 2k count which is very low res - especially compared to a 20k count;)

So, why would you need blutooth? No fuse? Pretty neet though hopefully not too expensive. Can't see it lasting too long.
@KissAnalog Жыл бұрын
Great questions! Bluetooth can be very helpful when setting up a measurement - and then going into a panel and turning the power on while watching the measurement on your phone. You do not need a fuse because you’re not putting Current through the meter. The clamp on makes it safer. It feels very sturdy and looks well-built - so why don’t you see it lasting long?

I fear the durability of the meter. Will it hold up dropping and slapping around?
@KissAnalog5 ай бұрын
It does feel very durable. Funny thing is - I think a lot of people think a certain meter is higher quality and durable - but really very few meters from some expensive brands are drop tested. It is a fallacy that people think they are. Also, if you do drop this meter in a way that would break it - you can buy a new one without crying about the expensive one you could have broken with the same fall;)

I have got this meter (the bluetooth version) and it's a nice meter to compete with the well known UT-210E, however with some things to bear in mind. 1) in Current range it is not 20.000 counts but just 2000, like the UT-210E. 2) Auto-ranging is exceptionally slow on this meter. Edit: Mine actually defaults to DC in Voltage and Current modes!

Beeps too much. The developers should make quiet beeps except for continuity and diode. Gives the UT210e a run for its money. I like to see the low and high range of measurements and speed and stability . How well it meets calibration doesn’t need to be the main focus, maybe just a mention what you found. Keep doing a good job and being unique. You don’t have to be like anyone else!

You forgot to mention the accuracy of the other resistance ranges. don't make people think it's .5% on all. It's 5%+10 digits on on the 200 Meg range. The bluetooth is a gimmick. Totally worthless. It's more expensive than the Uni-t UT210e which also has a 2A range. OWON has zero support. This is not the best clamp meter.
@KissAnalog Жыл бұрын
Thanks for offering that data. I think Bluetooth is awesome! You can set up the meter - go to a panel and switch it on - and see the measurement. This is just one example. The Uni-T is only 2k counts and this is 20k counts. Owon is quick at getting back to me. What kind of support do you need? It’s just a multimeter.
@snabelsvin1 Жыл бұрын
@@KissAnalog Yes, bluetooth is awesome, but the way OWON implements theirs is not since you need the app to make it work. I have a B41T+ from OWON where the COM jack broke in the plastic part of the case. It was so tight you barely could get the leads in there. Banggood did after some complaining provide me with a new front half of the case though. Then the range switch died a month after that. I bought a brymen in stead. I needed firmware for my HDS2102 since the website did not work, I e-mailed them and they never got back to me. But you did, thanks Eddie.
