Factory startup instructions in the owner's manual of idis says to hold throttle halfway while cranking if over 32 degrees and to the mat if it's below freezing. That'll help it start fyi. I never used ether in my truck

yes, if the engine is in good running condition, but this engine will absolutely never ever start with out ether, we tried a couple times

use break cleaner it works better and it doesnt harm the motor. and less chance of blowing motor

Wow no those engines have pre combustion chambers the glow plugs Ignight the either and it stamps the pre combustion sleeve into the block and heads dont ever do that you will compleatly fuck your motor over time and break cleaner ain't no differant than starting fluid

Best thing to use when a diesel runs out of fuel or trying to start one is good old WD40 doesnt harm the motor or rings keeps it from dry starting up gotta know diesels wonder how many old school people knew about this free lesson save your motor........
