The bosch may have a self cleaning condenser but the miele has easy condenser access for manual cleaning. Just clean the lint trap after every cycle and there will be minimal buildup after even 10 years.

I have the latest Bosch 500 series and in the past, have had the Miele 800 series. The Bosch is good enough, but the Miele was better - and considerably more expensive. And I wasn't a fan of buying the costly Twindos cartridges.

I simply do not want to give up that much space for a full size set. Also have little laundry and the 3cu ft model I have is perfect.. I do 2 loads/week now (whites/darks). I'm just looking for the most reliable, mechanical type of washer possible. My ol' Frigidaire is sounding quite ill. Not bad for a 21 year old machine. Replacing the bearings could cost $500 though.

What about the LG stackable WM1455HWA? I see it on your website and it appears to have 3/4" less depth than the wash tower. I haven't investigated the matching dryer, but I am presuming there is one?

What do you think of the GE compact combo washer all in one? Thanks
@YaleAppliance19 күн бұрын
I like it because its been reliable...at least over 1.5 years.

@ I will buy it for my ADU then ! It’s only 24 inches!

Wait a sec...I didnt see the compact part. Compacts do not do a good job with filtering. That will be a problem...sorry, my bad

@ so don’t buy any compact washer and dryer ? LG has the 24 inch stackable

@ I am building ADU so no space for big washer and dryer, what do you recommend, thank you!

You’d think that if Miele wanted a piece of the micro-transaction game, they’d maybe drop their prices?

Do any of these washers and dryers take a king size comforter?

at 4.8-5.3 cubic feet....I would hope so

It’s too bad that Miele dropped their W 48XX washer and T 98XX full-size series as we still have those models, but are now looking for their replacements as a proactive measure. The newer Miele styles are not really new (other than technology adds), but based upon European specs with their physical sizes and load capacities therein. They are small units requiring additional loads and increasing times to finish both washing and drying, which is fine if you wash a load daily, but if you have a designated wash day, then you will literally be spending that entire day doing wash. Also, why no mention of ASKO? Thanks

Asko has had four owners and are a bit tough these days. You had the full size Mieles...I liked them

We had the Miele full sized 27" washer & dryer and they worked very well for us for 15 years but when we went to replace them we found the same--no longer available. Someone, I think it was a Miele service guy, said that it was that some people had their washers on the second floor and the powerful very high speed Miele spin cycle on the large full sized machines would shake the floor generating lots of complaints and product returns. Eventually Miele decided it wasn't worth it and discontinued the large full sized washer/dryer line that I believe they sold only in North America. We had our machines on a solid concrete floor in our basement and didn't notice any extreme shaking but I could see that happening on a second story wooden floor. No idea if that was true but that's what he said In any case we ended up replacing them with the 27" Electrolux units which we've had for a couple of years now. We chose Electrolux as the washer & dryer doors are both reversable and the machines are same size as our old Miele ones so they slotted right into the spots where the Miele units were. The Electrolux units are decent enough and no complaints but I would have bought Miele again if I could have.

Are the Bosch laundry appliances made in Europe, or in the US?
@YaleAppliance13 ай бұрын
Europe.....

I wish Bosch or Miele still had full size for the US market. I'd buy them in a heartbeat regardless of price.

Great products...have no idea why Bosch stopped making theirs.
@petermaz7014 ай бұрын
It was a very nice comparison, but you did leave out one set that I happen to think is an exceptionally great compact set and that's the Electrolux. They give great value for the money. They work fantastically well and have few service calls.

Love the washer...Dryer is condenser, which costs way more to operate than a heat pump offered by every other brand
@petermaz7014 ай бұрын
@@YaleAppliance1 the GE dryer was either vented or a condenser. I had the vented version of this dryer and it is not a good performer. The condenser Electrolux dryer doesn't use any more electricity than the vented GE dryer that you're showing.

It just blows the heat back into the room

My 21 yr old "Fridigaire" was made by Electrolux. Sounding a little sick right now but has worked flawlessly all these years.
